Does anyone use these pants for riding? If so, what conditions are they good in? I understand that these are not insulated, but they are wind proof and water proof. Good investment order 2sizes up if you do get them the company sells alot of gear (xelement) will do more research and get back to you | ||

They sell alot of gear !!! And reasonably priced at that the good thing is if the garment wears out you can get another one for nothing ( read this to mean at the same price ) so buy 2 and with what you had left over for not getting the aerostitch upgrade the armor in the places where you can knoxx or some brand you trust. At the price point theese pants are I would not trust the armor just yet an up grade can't hurt just my 2 cents. Stay safe out there keep two down and be straight up. | ||

update on this: I ended up buying the pants and they are pretty good. I absolutely needed 2 sizes up since I'm wearing clothes underneath. I have been riding in the cold for the past couple weeks and have found them to be ample protection from the wind and low temps even at highway speed. I haven't ridden in the wet weather yet. I don't think that I will until spring and warmer weather comes. I did my first ride where it was ~30 degrees this morning and I was relatively comfortable. I didn't feel that I needed insulated pants at all, even with no fairings on my bike!! Not sure if I would attempt any colder than that. A few of things that I do not like about them, but these aren't complete show stoppers is: the expansion areas around the tops of the knees are made of some kind of dense fabric. They are not wind proof. The 2nd thing that I don't like too much is that there is no cinch around the leg cuff. Even though no wind gets up there (I wear tall boots), I find that the cuff catches on the boomerang of the shifter sometimes. Its a good thing that the ends of the legs are tapered with velcro, or i would have tipped over a couple of times. Last I noticed that the knee pads do not line up with my knees. It might be due to the fact that these are 2 sizes too big. The knee pads rest lower than my knee and in towards that bike. I would recommend these pants to those of you who are looking to try riding in the cold or want some extra protection on track days and don't want to break the bank.
