The cyclone M2 shock will fit a 1995 thunderbolt S2? I know there are 2 different lengths.

Can anyone confirm this?

I think it can work but no can adjustment in stock S2 shock. If it,s same length you can use same front shock-bracket.

Awesome! Thanks so much. I have a 95, so it looks like I need a 16.5" eye-to-eye shock from that pic. would a 15.25" shock work as well?

Will any of those 3 shocks in the pic fit or just the 16.5" since mine is a 95 S2? sorry for all the questions. I'm just getting tired of bouncing around while riding.

Be careful shorter shock uses longer front shock mount. Will try to post pics of them.

With the different variations of recalls and shock mounts you want to measure what you've got. Matching that may be the easiest approach. The best functional shock is the 14.5, but you need to have the correct mount for that shock. Both show up on a regular basis. The exposed spring is the coolest in my book, but comes with it's own set of issues. It's a bit tough to find in good shape, though. I've seen (and sold) the solid 16.5 but I think it's the least desirable option unless you're really trying to match a 16.5 mount.

Sorry for the shameless thread hijack... if anyone has a enclosed original Works Performance shock from a 1990 RS1200 I would be interested. I know they were crap but I could have it rebuilt to modern specs.

If you're not dead set on the exposed coil look go to the "Shop Cleaning, Stuff for sale" thread in the classifieds. Scroll down to the shock kit. Buy it! I don't think it's a steal (though any recent pricing escapes my memory) but it's certainly a fair price. If you've already got the front mount you may be able to get $30 - $50 for that one.
Seeing how it's been listed for a couple weeks you may be able to negotiate a little.

I doubt it. It would be easier to tell if they showed the other end by by description I believe it's the bottom unit in the pic.

You can't really tell from the model year of the bike, since either recall may have been done. The middle shock above is stubby on the right and long on the left, so a better picture, showing the other end of the eBay shock, would more clearly show that it is the lower shock rather than the middle one, which you need. From the view that the eBay ad shows, I'm pretty sure its the 14 inch.
Another alternative is to drop $800 on a good quality Works.

i dont need a middle shock, i need the lower rear shock for my S2. from the pics it shows a measuring tape next to it and you can see that its 16", but the tape isnt from eye-to-eye. if you went eye-to-eye it would be 16.5", which is what my lower rear shock is as well.

Sorry, I was unclear. I meant of the three shocks in the picture that Ebutch posted above, on April 7th, the picture in the middle is of the 16.5" shock, which is what you need. The one on eBay is the 14" shock, like the one at the bottom of Ebutch's picture.
