Those who have installed the bar ends...did you cut the handle grip/throttle tube down or did you move the throttle tube in a little bit? Need some info Thanks | ||

My original response was in regards to my Throttlemeister bar end WEIGHTS, but I suddenly realized before I pressed <enter> that you're PROBABLY talking about bar end MIRRORS, right? | ||

Well I am talking about the Bar ends (no mirrors). The thing is my throttle tube sticks out 16th/1/8 of an inch and the other side just light of a 16th or so...I know weights will affect a little front end wobble majorly. So what would be perfect is if the bar end weights were touching the handlebars on each side. Maybe I am over thinking this Thanks for asking | ||

It looks as if I will ride around 750 miles or so this weekend. Like you say every little bit helps. Riding to Chi Town for the E B R show (hope it's sunny 70's n no wind) lol | ||

Ah! In that case, I use Throttlemeisters and they required no cutting or repositioning of the grips. | ||

I have had the Throttlemeisters for about a year. I didn't need to reposition anything when I installed mine. The inner clamping action was plenty for it to take care of the vibrations. Because of how it does work, you won't have direct contact between the end of the bar and surface of the Throttlemeister. | ||

I made some from brass hex stock and I did notice a more "solid" feel to the grips during acceleration. Although the vibration was never an annoyance to me some heavy bar ends do make a slight improvement. About the throttle tube. Just stack 3 o 4 washers between the bar end and the expanding part in the handlebar tube, you won't even see them. | ||

FYI... You have to drill out the clubman bars on the CR to get the Throttlemeisters to fit. But they are awesome. | ||

bar end weights - I use these on my 1125r http://www.manicsalamander.com/application_finder. htm he had some on sale at Xmas -in gloss black powder coat for HD ( 1" bar)- but it fit inside the 7/8" clip on used on the 1125r. also added "grip puppies" from Cal Sport touring: http://www.casporttouring.com/cst/motorcycles/GRIP PUP.html eliminates all the tingles - good luck | ||

Thanks guys! I just spaced them out equally off each side. All I can say 450 miles later Awesome! That was the best my hands have felt on a long ride and my arm didn't go to sleep. I can't believe my shoulder didn't hurt either. Why didn't I do this 8k ago? | ||

If you really want to kill the buzz in the bars, think about a dead-blow hammer. Put 4-6 Oz lead shot(I used #8 bird-shot) in two 10+mil Ziplocks. Roll them up and stick one in the handlebar end on each side. Simple and cheap, many small particles of the same mass kill more vibes than a solid chunk. Gotta love Physics. Zack |
