If you have a battery tender quick disconnect on your bike, could you please snap a photo or explain how you routed the cable? I've got a 2008 1125R. I'd like to leave that connector and ring terminals on my battery year-round, but it seems like no matter what I do there's a clearance problem with the metal tab on the rear seat or else the red plastic around the positive terminal is in the way. It's like I'd want to go straight through that safety cover on the positive terminal? |

I'll try to get a picture of how mine is set up. It comes out on the right, under the seat (through a small opening). I've never used it, and regularly think about removing it, but it seems to fit just fine and doesn't interfere with anything. |

Cool thanks, I'll watch for it later. My biggest concern is under the seat around the battery terminals. When I try to snake it around the guard for the positive terminal, it seems like I'm adding height and likely to snag that metal bracket on the rear seat. There isn't much clearance at all. I constantly remove that rear seat to clip my helmet. Unfortunately I noticed a hairline crack developing on my tail section plastic this spring. The bracket gets so close to the battery terminals (even without adding a tender cable) that I'm surprised I haven't already shorted the terminals when removing and installing the seat. |

As requested. I brought Mine out the left side because it makes it easier for the electric vest hookup. Aerostitch uses the same SAE plug. The Battery Tender cable is zip tied to the harness and comes out the vent at your left thigh. Due to the shrink wrap packaging, the Negative battery terminal screw is elevated just enough that the rear seat prong contacts it when reinstalling.

No need to worry about shorting the terminals unless you contact the Positive and something on the frame. Thought about taking a little material off the screw head, but will likely just do as I did on the 'Bolt and replace it with a button head. There's other alternatives for helmet locks. I remember seeing something that replaced the bar end weights for instance. I just carry mine. |

Thanks Zacks. I think the difference is you ran it forward, where I was trying to run it toward the back and bundle it under the seat. It gets sloppy trying to make a 180deg turn around the safety cover so I knew that couldn't be right. |

Mine on my 08 is routed forward, like Zacks' but mine exits behind the rear brake M/C on the right side. Right side has easier access when on the side-stand. Zack |

Zack, I had it that way as well at first. Reason being is that the power in the shed was on the right hand side and made it easier to get to the Tender connector. But, got tired of having the vest coil cable across my crotch and trying to remember to unplug before dismount. So the move to the left. |
