Has any tried using 55w HID bulbs in a 1125r yet? Someone with actual experience please - not just speculation on what may happen by using them (i.e. flaking reflective coating in lens etc)... Thanks in advance! |

I am running the 55W 8K in my R, which is supposed to be close in color to the 35W 6K. I did not put much ride time on the 1125 since the light upgrade, with no problems so far. It has been nearly a year, but again, not much ride time. |

Thanks very much guys... I just put them (55w) into my bike, and moved the 35w ones to the high beams... Should be great for riding at night out in the country. Later! |

Just in case your 55s are too hot for the enclosure, I think if you switch you strategy, you'll get more. My 35w lo-beams completely wash out the halogen hi-beams. I can't imagine how far you could see with 55w hi-beams... hmmmmm... Z |

I used the 55 watt bulbs for my running lights. I raised them up slightly and found that the stock halogen highs aren't effective anymore when both are used. I just run my lows as. The highs are worthless anymore. They were the best investment to date. I feel so much safer with the hid lights. |
