I got my 09 CR used with 1200 miles on it, about 8 months ago. The previous owner put the high bars on it. Right after the Buell website was shut down I ordered the Clubmans and haven't put them on until today. Boy am I happy I did! Routing the throttle cables correctly was a real big pain in the butt, but it was all worth it! The riding position is so much more forward and lower. My weight is distributed right over the center/front end of the bike and the front end is so planted now, whereas before it felt like I was always hanging off the back with the high bars, and the front end would get squirrely from the lack of weight over it. Counter steering is so much easier, and I can really lay into the throttle and accelerate without the front becoming unweighted. Not to mention these bars look freaking awesome, and so do the bar end mirrors I put on them, as well as the turn signals I installed on either side of the headlight cowl. It's like a new bike! Now I just have to adjust the suspension and I can really take those turns! |

I concur. The CR just feels right with the clubmans. |

So can you use the high-bar cables and such if you convert back to the clubmans? |

Yes, you can use the high bar brake lines and cables with the clubmans. You'll have to reroute the brake lines and cables creatively so the slack is innocuous, but other than that caveat, they'll work just fine. |

You could also just bend your elbows. I've never had a problem getting tucked in and keeping weight on the front with the high bars. On the other hand, I've hated trying to ride 10 hours days with low bars. |

I used the high bar brake and clutch lines. Yes, you have to creatively route those so they are not kinked or anything, but I used new throttle and idle cables. I understand what you're saying ratsmc, to each his own |

I do like my Clubmans, but if I could make the grips a little closer together, that would be ideal. I think there's a little room to slide the controls inward, but not much, then i could cut the bars and move the grips in. |

Being a Uly guy...I haven't paid too much attention to the CR, but I'm starting to become intrigued; Stupid question but the Clubman bars are the stock bars on the CR? And the high bars were/are offered as a kit from Buell? TIA. Tipsy |
