I need help!!!! Harley has had my motorcycle for 5 months and can not seem to fix it. I own a 2006 Buell Ulysses I bought new. I have had all the maintenance done at dealership of purchase. It died on the freeway in Oct and they have had the bike since and can not fix. I called Harley and they told me to piss off we are trying to fix the bike and that it is an extended warranty so its not on them. The dealer is throwing his hands up and saying sue Harley.. I live in California and have talked to a lawyer and they said I am screwed. I did find some info on a Magnuson–Moss Warranty Act but am not smart enough to know if it works for me. At this point I just want them to buy back the bike. Even if they fix it I don't want to be responsible for selling it to someone else and they end up with a lemon. WHAT ARE MY RIGHTS? |

First of all, you need to be clear. Harley doesn't have your bike, a Harley dealer does. That said, did you talk to the dealer or to Harley customer service? If they have had the bike for that long, I would look into getting a different dealer to repair it if possible. Do they know what the problem is? In either case, I'd recommend a call to customer service to address the issue. I'm not sure what your rights are but I don't think the MM warranty act is what is involved in this case. Generallly that deals with aftermarket parts and their effect on warranty. I'm not sure how they think the extended warranty takes away any accountability towards them but they haven't done anything technically 'wrong' that I can see in the post other than poor customer service which is why I'd try to look at a different dealer if customer service can't get the dealer to move. If the parts are available there is nothing on that bike that can't be diagnosed and fixed in a week or less (and I'm being generous). |

Im going to say fuel pump wires, what were the symptoms? What happens is the wires inside the tank chafe through and pop the ignition (I think thats the one) fuse. Once fixed, it wont be a lemon anymore and you can feel good (?) about selling it! Its happened to me a few times but was always able to replace the fuse and keep riding, last week it was a hard fail, side of the road 70mph traffic over a bridge. Towed it home, took about an hour to diagnose it, about 3 to fix it. Good Luck! |
