I've read many posts in the past about mirrors, and am looking at the Oberon, but the cost is heavy. I have seen similar mirrors on ebay for like 30 bucks for the pair. so toss out your horror stories about them, has anyone bought off market bar end mirrors? How long have then held up, and do I really need to plunk down the $150 for the pair of Oberons at the start? thanks Boca |

I got the 30 dollar (60 for two) from American sport bike (highly recommended) and they are a million times better than stock, although I don't know how to compare to the Oberons. they are actually usable most of the time , during heavy acceleration or 100+ mph they are useless as just about every mirror probably is, but much better than stock, I wouldn't use anything but bar end mirrors. |

I've had my $40 pair ebay special mirrors on my bike since I got it about 3 1/2 years ago. Try not to bump them much and they're alright. If they crap out I might get something similar, unless I've actually got money. |

I had the cheap bar end mirrors. One fell off on the freeway, so I took the other one off and never looked back. The base cops love me. |

I have a set of those mirrors like Brumbear has...I put about 15K mikes on them when I had them on my Blast!...swapped them onto my XB when I got it...18K miles later they are still there...If I ever drop the bike, a new mirror costs 13 dollars at the local bicycle shop. |

Oberon are nice, but they're small and pricey. On the other hand, thirteen bucks may not seem like a lot, but you can get pretty serviceable ones for $6.50 http://www.amazon.com/Cateye-Cat-Mirror-Fits-18-6-22mm/dp/B0012OK4LS/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1301419437&sr=8-2
Of course, there's nothing the matter will buying them from Amazon, but I always got mine at yard sales for a buck or so. Jes' sayin'

I have a set of cheap ebay ones on my TT, they work better than any regular bike mirror I have ever had. The Oberon mirrors look very nice, I have a set of the bar end turn signals and I have to say they are top notch, I would expect the mirrors are just as good. Don't have a real close pic of them but you get the idea.

^This, I've had the same ones for a couple years now with no issues. Cheap? Yeah, but functional and if I break them then I wouldn't feel horrible about it. |

I am just glad they fit my renthal bars because I was a little nervous that they wouldn't since my bar end weights did not. |

I just put a set on yesterday which look great, but I just can't get them to tighten enough. I used electrical tape to offer little more grip inside the bar and have tightened them almost to the point of stripping the bolt out, but cant seem to get them secure. On the first ride, my left mirror rotated up a bit from the wind which rendered it useless at that point. |
