Yesterday's ride was good. Lafayette even rode over with his new knees to see us off! Great weather, nice roads, Thanks to Tim for leading us to Winter Gardens for breakfast. Unfortunately our usual place was closed due to fire damage, found the Country House resturant on Hwy 50 to be a reasonable replacement. | ||

Hello there everybody! I've recently moved to tampa and I own a BUELL XB9R from 2003...the very first model FIREBOLT to come out. I've been on multiple deployments and my motorcycle has been sitting in storage for 5 years! Now I'm trying to get it going again after so long. Is there any body out there that can start her up... a mechanic? Not the dealership...they want tons of money and I cant afford that, but a mechanic that can fix it at my house. By the way, I cleaned the injectors, replaced fuel, engine oil, spark plugs, battery...but no start. she cranks like crazy though! Just wanted to add this additional info. I also want to join the riders club once I get her started.It will be a lot of fun i'm sure. Any info on a mechanic will help...thanx! 315-783-7976 | ||

Miguel, I'm no mechanic, but if your bike sat for 5 years more than likely your fuel pump inside your frame (tank) is full of varnish from bad gas. My Firebolt track bike sat for 1 year, with a full tank of gas, and I still had to replace the fuel pump because the fuel screen deteriorated and when the pump tried to run it sucked in screen material and locked up. My bike did the same thing, crank like crazy but would not run. I put a little gas in the throttle body and it would fire right up. That's how I knew it was a fuel delivery problem. Good luck. Got the fuel pump, works great, now the rear injector won't work! E-bay here I come!! Getting to be an expensive lesson about leaving gas in your bike for over a year! | ||

Well my travel for the conference was canceled, which meant my trip was canceled.  Shiznit. So y'all will just have the pleasure of my fat Connie butt on this ride.
