Hellow there Badweb, I currently own an 03 Buell XB9S and am looking at finding a low mileage bike, my harley dealer has a white 08 xb12stt with 1800 miles for 4800. I hate the long bikes so Im wondering if its possible to swap the shorter scg parts onto this bike to basically convert it to an scg.. or what all is the difference between the two? Are the front forks on the tt taller or is it just a different shock and seat on the scg? I know the TT has the duckbill ect. The more I think about it Im wondering if I should just wait until an scg becomes available? Just looking to see if it can be done just by bolting on the scg frame rails and all the accesories or if Im going to need forks and everything? |

forks, frame, shock, swingarm, framerails and seat are all different on the STT as compared to the scg. you can swap the forks and shock (but not from your current bike as fork diameters are different), then you would just have a lowered long framed bike. you could really swap everything if you wanted to but not all parts from your current bike would work if that's going to be the donor. you would still have the long frame. or u could just swap another engine into your current bike. You'd come out better buying the stt and putting a normal front fender on it. plus it's taller so you get more suspension travel. or keep searching for an scg. this is just a high level response.... lots of details i'm leaving out i'm sure. |

Ferrous, i wish i'd have known about that STT before last week, i'd have snapped it up. I just bought an '07 for about the same price last Friday at a dealer just south of Indianapolis. When I was in the dealer picking the thing up I saw a poster that HD Financial could help you sell your bike by getting your buyer a loan. you might want to check with your dealer to see if they can get you a loan on a bike from a private seller. Or, you can just go to the bank/credit union? Good luck finding what ya want |

don't bother with a dealer. Ask your local Credit Union about loans. The rates will be cheaper and the customer service will be better. |

Hey Just so you guys know, the STT that Ferrous is talking about is VIN number 1 For 4800 bucks thats a steal. I was just in Omaha yesterday and picked up its sister (VIN number 9) for my girlfriend. That TT is a nice bike, there was a little ding in the header pipe though. Chris |

Canyonlf7, I was looking at that bike as well very nice, I decided to go for the lower miles, Even thought I loved the look of the black and red, I also liked the look of the blue and red one they had up there on the second floor. How much did you end up getting the black and red one for(if you don't mind me asking)? I ended up paying asking price, (they knew they had me hook line and sinker and were telling all these people were buying up all their buells) RW |

I paid $5600, guess they think the red wheels are worth something, lol Still it's a great deal for an 08 with low miles IMHO |

Canyonwlf7, I think it was a good buy it is almost always cheaper to buy exactly what you want, rather then modifying to get what you want. Ferrousbueller, I stopped out to dillion brothers last night and they had a solid black 2008 regular XB12S on the floor for sale(that should work for what you want to do right?). RW. |

I have a great XB12Scg for sale... Its Black and Gold (06? 11,400miles?) Rides great... If you have any interest let me know.. Rides fantastic!!! TOTALLED.... Now the explanation.... Last week some bad weather (not funny... ok.. kind of funny) blew 2 of my Buells over in the parking lot... The XB Landed on the 1125R... Small scratches on the frame caused by the kick stand of the 1125R... Tagged and titled.. Rides great! Let me know if you want to check it out. |
