Great site, nice dialogue and information.I'm 2 weeks into ownership and I really like the bike. After all the XB12 hype I took a look and test drove a 9, no 12s were available to test. I must say, I have never had any affection for the HD models past 1973. I've owned numerous brands and types of bikes and this is very different. It's obvious allot of thought went into the XB. The Jap sport bike crowd should have more interest but the "Harley}}} Davidson Dealer" experience is a draw-back in my opinion. Harleys are best appreciated sitting still and the Buell well it's just gotta be driven- as much as possible and its appearance is top notch also. I wonder what the sales figures would look like if Buell left the womb and struck out on their own. The reason I bought the 9 in lieu of the 12 is because both local dealers wanted to sell the 12s @ $700.00-$900.00 over retail list price, I found a 9 with 1,300 miles for 6k --I'll spend part of the difference in performance upgrades. Which by the way gets to a Question. Can I get 20 more dependable horsepower for$1,500.00 in bolt on parts. Or perhaps the better question is, can I increase performance without mucking-up the the fine qualities factory engineered into the bike. One last observation, Buell has to win the trophy for the highest amount of different type fasteners}}} on a motorcycle--part of its "Personality"}}}}}} |

Welcome to the Badweb and to Buell! 20 more HP is going to run you more than 1500.00 I would start off with a race ECM,air filter and a pipe. I have several options on the pipe depending on how loud/performance you want. If you think the XB has a lot of different bolts, good thing you didn't buy a tube frame Buell! Glad you found this site, there is a lot of good knowledge here. Plus some really good people! Ride to the edge! Dave Iowa HD/Buell (Buell Cycle Center) |

Check into the Drummer pipe and Nallin racing for performance upgrades. Nallis hands down the best for engine work. Lots of options on heads and boring. Have fun and get some miles on that puppy. Morgan |
