I am still looking for my S-2 production certificate and engine case part.....serial number 4MXRT11H653000820. I did pick up a kit on ebay a while back, and its number is 4MZRT11H3S3000595. If you know anyone out there with this number and they would like their recognition kit, I can make them a good deal. I would like to find mine, if anyone knows how to do this. I was told by the factory that Buell sent the kits for the S-2 bikes to the original dealers........Then, if they could not find them, they sold on ebay, like how I purchased the one above........ thanks, rex

The girls at the factory found the original owner of my S2, and he still had the ignition timing cover - no letter though. He'd told them he wanted $350 for the cover, so I didn't bother to call. Too bad. Mine is a '96 #000076 Henrik |

Hey! I think I'll chime in here... My S2 is number 1127. If anybody has that one, I'd sure like to get hold of it! Anybody? Maybe we should keep this thread alive and try to match up as many bikes with their kits as possible! He'd told them he wanted $350 for the cover... that's lame, Henrik. there oughta be some way we could apply some gentle pressure to this individual to do the right thing. FB |

There seems to be a bit of variety in the VIN prefixes. 1B9R....197, early/mid-94 build. I found a timing cover on clearance discount out at Sauk Harley/Buell one year for less than $5. I should have bought the other one they had as well. |

Pressure - well, it was my understanding that he lost the certificate when a hurricane demolished/flooded his house. Probably not much we can do "> Hey, maybe, since it's been awhile, he's come to his senses and be willing to talk price ?? Henrik edited by Henrik on October 21, 2003 |

i'm not against capitalism, but $350 seems like K-Y territory. and sorry to hear he's had some personal trauma, but still. anyway, maybe he'd take a little/lot less $$$, along with some name recognition/good publicity here on BADWEB, if he does the right thing. we (me 'n Denise) will pony up the first $20 toward the "Let's get Henrik his Thunderbolt S2 timer cover!" fund. Ferris, Rex; thank you so much for the offer. Not sure I'll take you up on it, but I really appreciate the gesture. I will however give the guy a call and see how he feels about it these days. Henrik |

>>>I will however give the guy a call and see how he feels about it these days. Not for nothing (Brooklyese), but would you rather I call? Let's face it, through all the time, friendship and swapping hickeys on the street of Williamsburg, it's clear....you are a better rider, I a talker. And, what if the guy doesn't speak Daianese? Court P.S. - I already have the BS script roughed in... |

No, but I did outbid the other guy (for now) I don't have an S2 so I don't really care what VIN I get (if I ever get one). |

I never received the certificate / timer plate & stuff for my 96 S2T # 0371 , I figure some undeserving scum bag has it. |

I figure mine is either in some shop's filing cabinet or is hanging on someone's garage wall. I'll probably get mine one day buried in an estate sale misc. box of hardware and old bike magazines used as a bookmark for an ad in Enthusiast magazine for the 1997 RoadKing, and it will probably be 10 years after I sell the S2. |

197, paging number 197. Have the bike, want the kit. Did anyone answer if the Signature Series was for all S2's or just some of them? |

Thanks. Last year or so there were rumors of a filing cabinet within the Buell confines that contained undelivered Sig-Series stuff. Now getting that for current S2 owners would be a very nice way to invite them to the next Homecoming. |
