Hey everybody, I just wanted to let yas know I had a great time yesterday...Great weather, Beautiful fall colors, wonderful people, and spectacular newly discovered roads. And a pat on the back to mule and griz for showing us some great roads. I'll have to start carrying a map when I go out exploring so I can return the favor some day. BTW Bads, you where right about trying to make it up to Kettle. It cooled off big time around 4:00-4:30. only made it as far as 100 and 94. made it home around 6:30 borderline hypothermik (<-- sp?) |

Newguy thats kinda why I went the other direction from Waterford.I new it was going to be pretty cold by the time you got either there or the ride home was going to be a real nip freezer. |

Guys get some heated gear, You can suffer it out at least a couple more hours. Ever since I installed heated grips and got my vest its like everything else stays warm. The grips were well worth the $35.00 Can I paid for them three years ago. The local Harley Shop told me they would not last very long as they we not Genuine $400.00 Hardley Ableson Grips but that was three years ago. There are two settings: 1. Hold F@#K I can't hold on anymore 2. oooooo ahhhhhhhh thats comfortable So in cold weather put on #1 for 15 minutes till they heat up to full then turn back. If anyone is interested in some e-mail me and I can get you the information. I figure that if you keep your core body temp. warm everything else stays good too. Now once it goes below zero (32f) then its just too damm cold for anything but to light the fire and curl up with a BIG coffee and a good book.

Hello all, Just catching up after my day off yesterday (BRAG, BRAG). Hopefully the fighting, nit picking, etc. has stopped. Dyna wanted to clear up the following: The only female at the meeting that actually made an attempt to talk to her...remember my wife was new to this & knew nobody..was grape. I have all the respect for her. Honestly, I've only seen your wife a few times and may have said "Hello" but I've never had a conversation w/her. I think maybe it was Yellow as I had just joined the Uke's club last September. As for Uke's in general, I'm sorry you have had so many problems with your bike and the service. I myself bought my bike last year and took the Rider's Edge course and have had nothing but good experiences throughout. Hopefully we can move past this and just enjoy the time we get to spend riding. I'm sure most of us have busy lives outside of Uke's and are just happy to enjoy ourselves in whatever way we can - whether it's eating, riding or socializing. I have never felt unwelcome. Kate and Don, Thanks for hosting - had a great time. Andrea, YEAH!!! A purple bike! Although you cannot steal my nickname! Can't wait until you take the class and are able to join us. Heather and Jason - I just may start crying with all this mush flying around. Seriously though, I am very happy for you both (if not a little jealous!). Great ride on Sunday everyone! And I must have missed the part that we were truly riding to Kettle Morain. I thought that was a joke! I was just following along and then we were in Milwaukee. Newguy if my fingers were frozen yours certainly must have been. By the time I got home I was so numb that I was fumbling w/my car keys and set the alarm off. Got some not so polite stares from the neighbors standing outside. Grape} |

Does this club still meet over the winter or what ? I'd like to get to know everyone. I know it's the last Tuesday of the month at 6:30, but do you stop over the cold months? Also, have any of you had a track day at BlackHawk Farms?(racetrack)? If not, that's my 2 cents. |

nothing improves your riding skill more than track days . . . . no pressure at all, no minivans, just the chance to focus completely on your riding in a safe, controlled environment . .. . besides, it might be the ONLY place where I can stay ahead of Heather (for a little while, anyways {grin}) |

even on the Blast, girl, I'm thinkin I'd be good for about half a lap, if you spotted me 300 meters! Seriously, track days are a great learning tool, and I've never ever seen anyone have a bad time due to newbie status, or anything else couple of years ago, there was a, ehem, experiecned gentleman there on a hotrodded blast (pipe, carbwork, K&N aircleaner, rearsets) who beat me like a gong on the back portion of Blackhawk (pretty tight there) . . . he handed a number of "big bike's" their lunch that day . . .. I could reel him in on the straight, but he'd walk away from me in the back part . .. to quote an old reacer's line (that Wes reminded me of), I'd rather be fast on a slow bike than slow on a fast bike |

very good point there, bomber (slow on a fast bike). I've been wanting to do a track day ever since Jay did his last summer. He was so excited about it (except the crashing part) and learned sooo much. I think it would be a great opportunity. You gunna be at the next meeting???BTW, do you have the official Uke's Brag member forms?? (*i'm actually not a real member*) |
