Would anyone be interested in seeing about getting a steering damper group buy going? If there's enough interest we'll see about contacting a sponsor and finding out what they can offer us... Just thinkin' it would be nice to get one on my 1125r! | ||

I think Erik Buell Racing machines the parts for the Ohlins unit, so I'm not sure how much of a buy you can put together there. On the GRR unit you might be able to put something together... | ||

A while back, I had contacted EB R about buying the mounting hardware for their Ohlins kit. Michael replied that they were a couple of months away from having more stock. I then contacted Ohlins directly to ask them about it, and their rep said that Ohlins didn't make a kit for the 1125s. Since the 1125 damper kit isn't made by Ohlins, it would seem likely that EB R is the company that produces it. It's been several months since I last asked EB R about buying the Ohlins kit mounting hardware so it's probably about time for me to follow up with that. I'm not sure that my 1125R needs a steering damper but if it does, the Ohlins kit would be the only way I'd go--mainly because I prefer the mostly-hidden mounting and think that the GPR damper looks just plain ugly sitting on top of the triple. My interest is in buying the damper kit mounting hardware and then finding a used OEM Ohlins unit on Ebay (one that was factory mounted to one of the Japanese sportbikes) and using that instead. I'm sure that the aftermarket Ohlins units are of better quality than the OEM ones, but for the price, I think an OEM Ohlins damper would do just fine for me. The questions are: Will EB R sell the Ohlins damper mounting hardware without the damper itself? (The reply from Michael seemed to imply that, but it's not confirmed.) How much will the damper mounting kit cost? What are the measurements of the aftermarket Ohlins damper used with the EB R kit, so that I can figure out which Japanese sportbikes had same-sized OEM dampers mounted? SHHHH!!!! Remember guys, E-B-R isn't an official sponsor, so it's a good way to get this thread canned by the overseers...  Let's give the sponsors a day or 2 to chime in and see what they have to say before we go to E-B-R (even though I would love to send the business their way). | ||

I JUST bought my GPR from Puzzled on a group buy. Awesome price, don't wanna step on toes or get this deleted, lets just say I paid over $100 less than retail shipped. He just placed the order today, even if he cant get some more in on this order, he may be able to do another at some point. | ||

American Sport Bike already has the GPR for the CR, I would have to check and see if they offer it for the R too, this could be very doable.
