Instruction sheet from Erik Buell Racing says 2003-2007 year model CCF12 race ECMs need to have the TPS zeroed by the dealer service tool or the bike will not run correctly until the that procedure has been performed. If it is in the instructions it must be true but have any of you installed the Erik Buell Racing ECM in a 2003-2007 XB and do a typical TPS re-set rather than zero the TPS by the dealer service tool? If so, what happened? If I have to take it to a dealer I'll do it, but it is a pain, they'er not that close. |

TPS reset is zeroing out the TPS, so they are one in the same. You can use ECMspy to do it, or you can ride to your dealer, swap the ECM in the parking lot and have the dealer do the reset for you. |

Thanks Froggy. I know how to do a TPS re-set so there's no need for the dealer I guess. Correct? Wonder why the instructions have the 2003-2007 models separated from the 2008-2010 models? Thanks again. |

The 2008-2010 models have a different TPS reset procedure: Key ON Killswitch ON Turn throttle from full ON to full OFF 3 times, holding 1 second at each position. (Don't force, use moderate pressure at stops) Key OFF Wait 10 seconds. DONE! No need for ECMSpy or a trip to the dealer. (Message edited by rwven on March 23, 2011) |
