I have one I use on the Gixxers, will take a look. Not sure as the Buells have valve springs the size of a small block chevy! |

Suspect it won't do it--my kit looks very similar and the biggest adapter in kit is a 25mm and it barely clears the retainer keepers on Buell head. There is a space in the kit listed for a 28mm but it only came with 3 of the 5 that are listed in the spaces provided. I would look at car stuff as I use an old pneumatic one I had since my car days and it fits well. It is because the Buells use 2 valve heads and they are BIG! valves. |

I used an automotive valve spring compressor. I think I picked it up at Sears. |

The KD one might, have one, never tried it. The other may but you need to be sure the adapter fits your sping size or if it comes with more than one. |

Since that last one is like the first one in that it looks like it isn't forged, do you think it would be strong enough to compress the springs without bending? The 30mm adapter looks like it would be big enough. The keeper plate on the top of the springs measures 30mm, does the keeper plate need to set inside the adapter? The inside diameter of the adapter is 27.5mm. |

I have a Powerbuilt model 648615 that I bought last year it did the job. |

I tried a overhead like the KD I borrowed at autozone, not enough clearance to use it correctly. Ordered a Sifton c-clamp, this one here- http://is.gd/BZ4ImW |

I just picked up one of these, and it worked great on Evo heads, and on a set of shovelheads, so I'm thinking it would work fine on your Buell/Sportster castings, too. I got mine on ebay, where I swiped this photo from. Search 'harley valve spring compressor'

I just order one very similar to that Al, made by Sifton. |

-Should do the trick. I still need to make a 'head holder' bracket for working on them. You can take a piece of pipe or square tubing and weld it to a sparkplug, then you thread the plug into the head and clamp the pipe end in the vise to hold the head steady. Or, you can buy one, but where's the fun in that? |

It's easy to make something like this!
or you can make it from an (old) wood clamp. |

I have one very similar to the fist link, might be the exact same one and it works fine. I'd have to go to the garage to check the sizes. Picked it up at Harbor Freight I think. |

I take that back, I got mine from PitPosse, sizes 16 to 30. I think there are about six or seven sizes. I can snap a pic if you're interested. |
