Does anyone have a close up pic of frame pucks on an 1125? How well do they fit? Any issues with airflow through the pods? | ||

Tpoppa, Here is a couple pics of pucks on the 1125R. They fit pretty good. The pucks for the Ulysses. Seemed to fit a little better on the CR. Small bit of non adhesion in the middle-lower portion. C.   (Message edited by cringblast on March 21, 2011) | ||

I have the pucks installed too. They are from Ulysses or XB12Ss. Bough a kit from a dealer for $45. Fits perfect, touching the shrouds. | ||

Why would you need them since the pods hit the ground first?  | ||

There are *some* situations that when you crash you can still take frame damage. The pods work great, but can't protect against everything. Same can be said about the pucks. | ||

Yes sir, for the cost, its a no brainer. And they dont look bad, they blend in with the pods pretty nicely. They also cover up my big dent nicely as well :-) | ||

Only problem i have heard of is the pucks are no longer available. I tried to order some last year with no luck. | ||

I've dumped my CR on the right at least 3 times, no frame damage yet. The clutch cover, thats another story.  | ||

Uly pucks fit great, and actually look pretty clean ... much cleaner than a big 'ole pole sticking out the side like standard frame slider on some other scoots. Coupled with fork/swingarm sliders, weighted bar ends, and the pods, the frame pucks complete the ultimate tip-over or get-off (within reason) protection while still keeping the bike's looks really clean. | ||

frame puks are a bad idea - if you have a crash with frame puks on the energy from when the bike hits the ground will pass to the frame - effectivly writing the bike off. Far better fitting crash bungs and if your feeling flash a carbon frame protector | ||

Depends on the crash, I've seen the framepucks save a bike from being totaled, and I've seen them not help at all.
Last I heard those were on backorder now too. | ||

Hoot: Just because something is stock, doesn't mean it's not a bad idea.... I put my frame pucks on before I ever went to the track. I won't ride without them...not worth the risk. FWIW, I'm not putting frame sliders on my CBR track bike...seen one too many bike hit grass/dirt, catch a slider and start to roll...not worth the damage possibility. | ||

yabut, they were't stock on the first models. They were added later on...to protect the frames. I realize that they're not stock on the 1125 models, but to claim that they may damage the frame is bizarre given their intended purpose. | ||

just speaking from what Ive seen in shops - Ask yourself do race team fit them to their bikes ? - NO they dont. R&G crash bungs etc is must better | ||

mcrbuelligan, Can you show some evidence that frame pucks have damaged a frame in an accident more heavily than it would have been had they not been there? All I see are are folks saying: 1. Sure glad I had those pucks. and 2. Sure wish I'd had those pucks. Also, please put your name in your profile. | ||

Pucks are good, you should add them. Race teams do not have turn signals either, but they are also good to have on the street. My .02 | ||

Pucks will help in a light to moderate impact. They may not prevent damage in a hard hit. Saying the pucks cause damage is like saying knee pads will hurt your knees. I just ordered a set from Al. | ||

Mcrbuelligan - That bike came from the factory with them preinstalled. Also those links, I know for a fact the second link can destroy the front head on the XB, but a new head is cheaper than a frame. | ||

I just ordered a set from Buell Parts. They said 5 days for them to get them instock then they will ship. I want them more for looks than safety tbh. |
