I hope it's against the 1198R as if it's against the base 1198, it's really a no win for the Erik Buell Racing bike, unless you are of the mindset any publicity if good publicity. When Erik Buell Racing makes a bike in the same price range as a GSXR-1000, I'm buyin' it!!!   Fast1075 Posted on Monday, March 21, 2011 - 07:59 pm:        Yesterday I got to ride with a fellow with an 1198 base model...first time I had ridden with a Duc owner that wasn't a poser. Holy tire dust Batman, That thing ate my XB up and crapped out a Blast and a Sportster. I imagine how fast the Corse "R" would be. By the top of third gear, it seemed as if I came to a stop compared to that yellow Duc. Jezebel held her own in the tight stuff, but was giving up maybe 70 hp...I'm not used to getting smoked like that...   Milezero5 Posted on Monday, March 21, 2011 - 08:12 pm:        I ride with a couple of new 1198s, very good looking and sound amazing. Although the cr does do a awesome job of keeping a very close pace up until the cr's lack of fairing come into play around 120 then it walks away from me. And we have a very capable candidate in Geoff May to raise some eyebrows. In the scheme of things...... In the last days of customers coming into the plant. At the last Homecoming it was ( and well may be this year) nothing to do with motorcycles...... Just simple insurance. I guess the "good news" is that it may soon be about motorcycles. There are a few fun things lingering in there now . . . . Some of which re simple lpay projects to try different hints out. I've taken many detailed photos so if and when they are binned we'll be able to talk about em.
