It will not have much of an effect (the bands will get quiet) on HF but will disrupt higher freqs (space communication).
Last weekend I had to replace the garage disposal. Not a fun job but two trips to Lowes made it longer. Today Lynn broke the facet on in the kitchen (it was very corroded so it was just a matter of time so not her fault) and I replaced that (back to Lowes). I never realized there was such a large selection to chose from, sucked.
I called the cable company last week but the cable signal was very low and I was losing channels. He came over and was here for three hours (suppose to show up between 8 and 10 and actually showed at 0945 but I know he did not make it to his next one on time) replacing just about everything. When he replaced the external cable the db only went up +3 so he was able to narrow it down to a place he could not get to. No matter, we have all save one channel. I will fix it myself later. He was nice enough to leave me some cable and a splitter. (although I wish he left the whole roll).
And, I sold another radio and the young man came over to pay half today and I will give him the radio when I get the other half.
I went to pickup my meds and the Pharmacy was closed (no reason, just closed, great customer service I guess / sarcasm). Looks like I will be out there again tomorrow. I snapped on the AHole that would not refill my meds last time because "I had to go to the Air Force Academy" I did not. Jerk...
I had to mail a package and got a book of stamps which I do not have now. I figured I must of threw them in the trash along with my receipt.
All and all (considering the TV and facet are working) it was a ok day.
Frank, I can really tell you are feeling better now. Good to hear. I know you meant "garbage disposal" but you typed "garage disposal" and I had this image come into my mind.
I have to lay low today thanks to a sore throat. I do have my new front tire ready and want to get that mounted soon. Any chance we can try out your new bead breaker? If not I know where to take it to get it mounted. I started the CR up last weekend and it struggled to ignite at first, but then it started purring and I let it run for a about 10 minutes. The battery on the XB is fully discharged, though. Tough winter.
Erik looked really young in that Tuber video. Maybe he will take a look at reviving a tube frame tourer in the next few years.
DAYTONA 500 tomorrow. We will be watching. What about you John. Dan has Jimmy Johnson as a homepage favorite LOL. Now that we have our phones thru Sprint and are using the HTC we can connect the races thru our phones when they go to being only on cable TV.
Have you been sick Frank? And hope your sore throat goes away soon Jody. Dan and I went to Montrose last weekend and I came down with some flu symptoms while there. Much better now.
We put the bikes in our new travel trailer today to get a feel for how Dan will be mounting them. I can't wait for warmer weather. We hope to do a lot of camping with both the street and dirt bikes this year. Hoping to take a 2 week vacation this year.
Yes Julie, I was diagnosed with Graves' Disease a few months ago. I started treatment, pills before the radioactive stuff and have been feeling better. I hope it last. Today was another full day of doing stuff.... I am loving it.
Was very happy to hear that you're OK, even if it's "sort of". I kinda freaked when Dan Dunn called and said you were sick. You're a special one Frank, I hope you stick around a long time.
I'm getting my cataract removed on the 2nd of March, taking a week off to recoup. I hope the weather is good enough for a ride down south...
I assume "special" means as in "riding the short bus".. LOL
Your always welcome down South Zac. I had a tree (it is actually three trees) go down months ago (possibly six months ago) due to wind and I finally was able to get out and start cutting it up. The wood is going to a friend at work. I am looking forward to getting that eyesore out of here.
I need to put my bird feeder pole and bird feeder back up before too long as well.
As anyone ever heard of outdoor bamboo, or any other material, blinds? I need to take measurements but I would like to put them on both sides of the deck. I do not think, with the wind here, I would want them deployed all the time so I would have to be able to roll them up....
Time to move several blocks over this weekend. I will be moving into a garage with a detached house! Woohoo. I'm looking for a room mate, too, if you know anyone looking to live in the Canon City area.
Last night was the Spring Fashion Show, I am told I drank 2 or 3 bottles of wine. I drove the truck today. I'll get the Uly out tomorrow for work, this week's forecast looks gorgeous. I'll be taking the long way home tomorrow.
More snow?! Well, maybe this week we will see the last cold spell of the season.
I finished moving out of the old apartment last weekend. This weekend I am trying to get all my garage things out of storage, including the two Buells. Once I get that done I will probably have to wait until next weekend to finally get the front tire mounted for the CR. Then... maybe I can ride for the first time this year!
Next Saturday afternoon, of course, is when the Daytona 200 will be on Speed TV. Is anyone planning on watching it? Maybe a race party?
A wintery blast Monday and Tuesday could help this month retain its title as the snowiest of the year.
Colorado Springs and much of El Paso County could see 3 to 5 inches of snow by Tuesday morning due to a fast-moving storm that should move into the region on Monday afternoon, according to Jim Hall, National Weather Service spokesman.
“You’ve got an upslope condition so much of your accumulations will be up against the mountains,” said Hall, adding that the storms exact direction is still unclear. “The models have not made up their minds,” Hall said.
A winter weather advisory is in effect for much of El Paso County from 2 p.m. Monday to 11 a.m. Tuesday; winter storm warnings are in effect for areas to the south, including Canon City and Pueblo.
Snow will be heaviest Monday evening, Hall said, with the highest accumulations along the Colorado Highway 115 corridor in southwest El Paso County.
March is typically the snowiest month of the year for Colorado Springs, with the city averaging 9.4 inches a year of powder. But a La Niña weather pattern in the Pacific Ocean has left much of the Pikes Peak region parched.
Colorado Springs has received 19-fewer inches of snow this season compared to normal.
That last video was Awesome, Frank. I guess they had their own version of Homecoming. The group looks to be as large as last years homecoming was in East Troy.
We got a trace of snow yesterday but lots of cold. Got all the way up to 21 I think.
Cataract surgery went well, looks like my right eye will be very close to 20-20 when it finishes healing. I was expecting the clarity I have now but NOT the color difference. Right eye sees much bluer than the left, which has a yellow-brown cast in comparison.
Gotta get dressed and take the Uly out for some errands, already in the mid 40s
Frank, Glad to hear your feeling better and getting around. Some nice video's you've found there, I remember the S2 one, and I stole the Japan one for my facebook. Debbie and I would LOVE to see you and Lynn at SpringFast, it's a fun ride. Here's a pic from RT66 in Albuquerque, I took today while out on a ride:
Tentative Ride Schedule: May 20-22 Gateway CO June 18-19 Lake City CO July 22-24 Black Hills SD Aug 19-21 Southwest Buell Rally, Alt date is Sept 9-11 Sept 17-18 Steamboat Springs CO, alt date is Sept 24-25
I will try to keep this updated but I am not organizing these rides so I may forget especially if I am not able to attend. I cannot give you a person to contact since they are not on the badweb. I will do my best to pass the email traffic for those of you that are not on the Denver Group email listing. Sometimes 4 bikes show up and sometimes 10 or 12. The numbers are pretty low but it is still a good time.
I do not know which rides we will be able to do, Gateway is a little close to Springfast in AZ and the Black Hills is a little close to the S2 Gathering in MI so those two may be out for me. I do not know where the Southwest Regional Buell Rally is this year. Somewhere in Colorado or New Mexico I guess.
The Springfast info is already posted in the event/ride area of the CBR section. The S2 Gathering is 19 to 21 July in Christmas MI. All bikes are welcome.
Lynn and I are going to go to Springfast in AZ, anyone else?
