Got the new Pirelli Diablo Corso Rosso rear for $89.99!!!!! best price I found online was $179.99. Think I got an added discount for buying the protection plan, but $147 out the door? Nice Switching to Dunlop Q2's next, already on order, but needed to get the bike back on the road today and those tires haven't arrived (Message edited by sprintst on March 19, 2011) |

I was in there today and all they had were Pirella Diablo Corsa's. How do can you tell if it's a Rossa? Will it say right on the tire? |

Yes, it will say it on the tire. |

> Got the new Pirelli Diablo Corso Rosso rear for $89.99!!!!! I called my local store today and they won't be selling the special until Monday. But, the deal is the Diablo for $160 or so a set. Not the Diablo Rosso. Not the Diablo Rosso Corsa, but the regular old Diablo that's a very average tire at best. Good price, fair tire. I'd like to know where you got that Diablo Rosso Corsa for $89... |

I'm so confused. I bought a set of new Pirelli tires. I hope I got the right ones. They don't have the original tires that came on the bike anymore. Supposedly what I got is the replacement set. I don't know if it's the Diablo, Diablo Rosso, or the Diablo Rosso Corsa. Crap! I hope I didn't buy worthless tires. My wheels are at a local shop to have the tires mounted. |

I checked my receipts. I got the Pirelli Rosso Corsas. Am I good to go? Jim, I don't ride as aggressively as you do. I can't scrape my knee while holding on with one hand behind my back and turned around watching someone behind me. Don't ask where I heard about that! Just tell me I'm good to go for semi aggressive street riding. I'm going to the Dragon in less than a month. |

I think what you heard is an overstatement. I've been known to go through corners one handed while looking back, but I doubt I dragged a knee doing it. I'm only 5-10 and I have a tall set-up, so I have to be really hauling the mail to drag. Here's the Pirelli tires I know: Diablo: The old "road tire for sportbikes". It's ok for street, but I wouldn't use them on a track day. Decent in the rain. Diablo Rosso: Updated Diablo. Same deal, OK for street, decent mileage for a sport tire, I'd use something better for a track day. Diablo Corsa III: Discontinued tire, OEM for out bikes. Excellent trackday/sport tire. Diablo Rosso Corsa: Replacement for DCIII above. Highly recommended for our bikes for track days and sport riding. Diablo Supercorsa SP: More or less a race tire but in a trackday/super sport compound. Works great on our bikes. Dibalo Supercorsa SC: Race tire in DOT format. Not suitable for street in that I get less than 300 miles from a set of these. Uber-sticky, and generally warmers are a very good idea for these tires. Race dealers only. Diablo Superbike: Full on race slick. I run the "pro" model, which is aimed at amateur riders, and I'm getting 5 track days out of a set!!! Excellent endurance racing choice. |

Thanks, Jim! That's a load off my mind. I think I got the right tires. I stuck with the originals last time, because I figured if they came on the bike, they must be good. They don't make them anymore. The person who sold this set told me they were designed to replace the originals. The originals worked OK for me. I did not want to have to try to get used to something too new this close to my trip. I know my boundaries with the original tires. |

I'd like to know where you got that Diablo Rosso Corsa for $89... Matthews Cycle Gear near Charlotte, NC Laying in a pile of close outs on the floor, probably not part of the promotion, since those were nice big stacks of Diablos right by the entrance door suggest you stop by, poke your nose around and see what you find} (Message edited by sprintst on March 20, 2011) |

Yea that "enviro-Fee" is a glorified tax on the sale of any tire. They say its to go towards keeping tires out of landfills but its a joke. |

0210 = Feb 2010, I believe 0210 = Week 2 of year 2010. so it would be from Jan 2010 |

That's a great deal on that tire... I called my local store and they wanted a little bit more than $260 for the set... I'll just buy slicks at that price. Only $100 more and lasts twice as long. |

What the hell? $89.99 for the Rosso Corsa? That doesn't even make sense to me....I just paid $147 shipped for that tire, no mount or balance. Of course, I mount and have Cycle Gear balance for free, but WTF!! EDIT: Just called the local CG. They're supposedly not carrying the tire IN STORE anymore. I guess because of this, they want to get rid of them so they're discounting them...they're holding one for me at $97....ridiculous price. (Message edited by drawkward on March 21, 2011) |

+1 Diablo Superbike Pro. Sticks like glue and very little wear. Rear can be pushed but gives a nice predictable slide. Pressure sensitive but most tires are at medium + pace. |
