Stock Diablo III

I'm only responsible for the last 800 miles, but boy she seemed to wear quick!

I guess those 1st gear power wheelies might be a bit rough on the tire. : D

Ordered a set of Dunlop Q2's a day too late, hopefully they get here saturday am, since tomorrow is the best riding day of the year.

hate to have to bring out the Sprint ST instead.

Oh, installing my own. Last I did was 30 years ago, but hey........... I have done tens of thousands of bicycle tires.

Also reglued the heatshield on the fairings. Got some new heat shield coming too, since I had to patch the hole with actual kitchen tinfoil. : D Did the spacer and bending of brackets, we'll see if she does better

I never got more than 3k on the Corsa III's.

Try Pirelli Diablo Rossos. They last another thousand miles more.

The Corsas spoon on with zero effort, I did a set with Crusty's help last fall. I just place my order for its replacement (Scorpion Trails), I got only 5000 miles out of them this time instead of my usual 7000.

How on Earth did you get 7k miles on a set of Corsas III's?

I have NEVER had any sport tire last me more than 4k on a variety of bikes ranging from a ZX11, VFR's, Bandit, Hayabusa to a Firebolt, and now the 1125R.

Actually if you knew how long I can get fronts to last, you would crap yourself : )

I hypermile, so not only do I get 80% better fuel economy, I get 80% more tire life. The Uly guys hate how I get 15k on a 8k tire. Going to spoon on some sport touring tires on my R now, lets see if they can outlast the motor : )

3300 is 900 more than I got out of my Corsa III rear.

People have said good things about the Q2, but even more have said good things about the Pilot Power 2CT. If you're not fully satisfied with the Q2, try the 2CT for your next set. I won't run anything else.

2ct's rock. Great handling, and good mileage. I chew up back tires pretty regularly, and accept that as a maintainence item, but there's not much better than a new set of 2ct's. After having the pilot powers on for a bit, I have decided to go back to the 2ct's next. I like the really peaked profile.

I have about 5600 on my corsa III"s. Stock tires from 08. Plenty of life on them and will get the season if I'm lucky.

I've ridden the 2ct's and it's an entirely different feel. The corsa's have a semi-circular profile and the 2ct's have an almost triangular pro. With corsa's, you have to push into the corner, while the 2ct's just fall in. However, I think longevity is acquired through throttle control. We all know how the V-twin's can shred a tired quick. An I-4 can shred it as well, by pushing the RPM's. just be careful with your throttle next time and you wont have short lived tires.

I went from Corsa III to Q2...excellent tire...the first rear Q2 ended up with a bolt in it at around 2200 miles...it was about half used up....they warm up quickly and stick really well.

Swoop, I put a Roadsmart on the back of my CR when the CorsaIII ran out at 4000 miles, showing steel about 80 degrees around. Naturally, the steel began showing when I was 150 miles from home. If this ever happens to you, have some faith in tire technology and don't flip out. Ride the bike home.
Zero problems with handling after 700 miles with the "mismatched" front and rear. I have a friend who bought a set of Roadsmarts for his FJR and he doesn't like the front at all. I have read this about the front tires, and riding his bike, it is apparent when you fall off the squared center section and onto the sidewall when cornering. This apparently starts after a few thousand miles.
It was unusually snowy this winter so I have not pressed the issue too hard on handling so far. I've got a quarter inch left to the sidewall. Absolutely no drama handlingwise. My FJR riding friend has about 7000 miles on his, and that's a rig that goes about 800 pounds, one up.

Here is my rear Roadsmart after 688 miles Swoop. There are 3 compounds and I tried to mark the divisions between them for you.

to be blunt i beat the crap outta my bike and im gettin (believe it or not) 10k out of my PR2 rear and 14k out of my PR2 front...my bike is almost never under 100 or never in low rpms, and i scrap pegs (although i dont like to) in the corners....FWIW

I commute during the week and never exceed 60 (suburban riding). I sport ride during the weekend and it's mostly twisties and some freeways. Again, rarely go 100+ but I do get lean angles sometimes to the edges but I don't give it WOT on corner exits.

I don't feel that I beat on my tires. But damn! 4k miles on a pair or Corsa III's and that was past the wear bars. Maybe, must maybe....5k miles on the Pirelli Rosso's.

Still don't know how some get more than that on the same tires on the same bike!

Riding so slow your grandmother would rather get off the back and onto a cruiser to "have some fun for a change".

I wish I could get more than three thousand miles out of my rear tires. I rip up the corners and take it easy on the straights. I use the tire all the way to the edge. Even with occasional straight away fun, my rear tire never sees more than 3000 miles. The fronts I get 6000 miles but they are needing replacement because the sides are gone I have run the Corsa 3's. Think I might try the metzler M5 interact.

Just replaced my original Corsa's on Thursday after 4600 miles. Put on the new Conti Road Attack 2's. I have not had a chance to give them a workout in the mountains, but they felt great (just like any new set of tires) on my commute on Friday.
