Does anyone have experience in replacing the crank-seal on an X1? If so could someone walk me through the steps, any pics would really be great. Also does anyone know the part number to said crankseal? Do I need any special tools to do it? |

Lots of discussion in the knowledge vault on the topic. You can make your own tool by creating a "step" on the edge of a dowel rod and being careful to tap it in. The depth really does matter, go too deep and you will cut the seal with the bearings in about 4000 miles (DAMHIK). Getting the old seal out is tough as well... that aluminum in the case is soft as butter, and that seal is stuck in pretty well. Easy to chew things up... |
