Offended me. Sponsorship related. I PM'ed the guy that made the thread, I wouldn't count it as totally dead yet. |

Grandstand Designs is a Flexiglass dealer, get in touch with them, I don't think it would be hard to get them involved with a group buy. |

OMG... you cant even talk about a group buy of a product that isnt a sponsor here... |

Correct. Group buys need to be done through a sponsor. There was interest a few years back for FMF pipes. At the time they were only available directly from FMF. Someone got in touch with American Sport Bike, who was able to coordinate a nice group buy with FMF and everyone got cheap pipes. American Sport Bike now stocks FMF pipes. Everyone wins. Same can happen here. (Message edited by Froggy on March 16, 2011) |

LAME!!!!!!! And way to political... What happened to forums that gave a ufck about what the rider wanted and not looking to make a buck from sponsor kick backs?? It's LAME!!!! FREEDOM TO THE PEOPLE!!!! Unless your a badweb member!!! |

Truly, the moderators are sitting back in their leather couches with many leather bound books sipping premium whiskey from the money they make off sponsorship fees. Well, they may be doing the above, but certainly not from the sponsorship money anyway :P |

Nothing lame or political about it. It is a simple rule, if you do not like it then don’t participate on this board. Many other boards have similar rules. One of the privileges of being a paid sponsor on Badweb is have exclusive rights to advertise and run group buys. Badweb costs money to run, and the sponsors are the ones that are paying for it. |

It does cost money to host this site. And time... Not sure that should mean we can't pass on a good deal of a non sponsor's business. They may end up being a new sponsor if they get some business. I am glad this site exists and we have people who care and put time into keeping it up. Thanks for that. |

Sometimes they do become sponsors (Dean Adams), sometimes they don't (OH Sport Bike). I use the FMF example above, there was no place to get the FMF pipe before the groupbuy other than FMF. Since then, we now have a good source for the pipe. Flexiglass is already offered by a sponsor, which means this is more possible to happen than some realize. |

It was my thread, I'm new here, wasn't aware of the rules.... I have actually been in contact w/ Grand Stand designs about this, but just forgot to mention that since I was in a hurry to go ride when I was posting the thread.. I was TRYING to get a feeler to see if there was enough interest for sure for them to get their hands on this for us... Also, this is the company that makes the bracket kit I spoke of that's very similar so sure they can get that taken care of. |

Oh and heres the picture. The kit consists of 3 pieces, 2 sides(replace stock rad. pod covers) and under panel/belly. Trev from Flexi said retail is $400(already great deal), and will cut it down to wholesale for like 4+ kits(will leave that # blank this time). Benefit of going through GSD is they can mark it up a little to make it worth their while, and still cost us the same due to reduced shipping costs(flexi is in Can). PLUS they can make some bracket sets, make a few $ off that and save some peeps some headaches. Like froggy said, win/win

If no sponsor wants to take on a product for a group buy, then a group buy would be okay, but sponsors deserve first shot. (Message edited by Blake on March 17, 2011) |

I'm down with this... find out if GSD can get us the mounting kits and I'll throw my cash in. I asked some questions about the fairings in the other thread... not sure if it exists still or not. |

Im Canadian.. I prefer this group buy to deal with Flexi Glass as i don't want 30% tacked on in brokerage fees. I will buy the mounting kit from Grand Stand but unless its shipped ground MAIL items crossing the border get hammered with brokerage fees from the USA |

I will buy the mounting kit from Grand Stand but unless its shipped ground MAIL items crossing the border get hammered with brokerage fees from the USA. I'm from Canada as well -- ask them to ship by USPS instead of Fedex or UPS. The couriers' brokerage fees usually start at $30 and go up from there depending on the value of the item... oh yeah, the taxes are added on top of the brokerage fees. If they ship USPS, you skip the huge brokerage fees (Customs charges a $5 handling fee, so you can say that's a brokerage fee), and may luck out and have your package waved on by customs and not have to pay any extra... Downside is that it takes a bit longer. Later! |

Yea depends on the size of the box it comes in, Canada post has a size cut off. Doesnt matter to me thou as i ordered from Flexi I love dealing with Al and am all for supporting the sponsers but ..... How many people from USA would support buying directly from Flexi Glass if it cost them 100-200 bucks more then buying from Grand Stand? Its kinda whats being asked of us Canuks, |

if Grand stand won't send usps let me know. I can get the extra kits and usps them to you. Guessing on the size they should fit in a flat rate box and then could be a gift |

Thanks for the offer RT but i have already ordered from Flexi. Just making point that brokerage fees are insane here. They can make up what ever amount they figure they can get away with since it isn't regulated. Only way around it us ground mail. Must come USPS to Canada Post. Thats why i love to buy from Al. Oh and Johnny its EH.. As in Gidday Eh. (Message edited by ratgin on April 01, 2011) |
