So what is your total mileage for the trip so far? Looks like you are having fun. I hope I can do a trip like that one day. |

As foolish as it may seem... I don't exactly know my milage... probably between 5000 and 6000... have to look up the milage from when the P was shipped... silly, isn't it ? |

I suggested Hooters on the way back from Looziana. Senior management directed me to a Cracker Barrel instead. We visiting anthropologists should be more open to new things. |

A decent cheap hotel in Mt Pleasant is right at the foot of the bridge as you head north out of C town.Red Roof Inn is $59 a night but priceline is around $47.It is walking distance to restaurants, stores,ABC store & Patriots Point(an aircraft carrier & sub)It is in a decent part of town & you can park your bike in front of the room.We were there last week.Sticky Fingers is next door.Great ribs or wings. |

Haliburton just announced it is hiring 5,000 geologists and engineers worldwide. Okay, it's the dark side, but they pay well. |

Well, I had my face bitten off by hungry gnats this morning while packing up the tent. I hate putting chemicals on my face because they can get in your eyes, inside your helmet, etc. I just got into a hotel in downtown Charleston which costs way too much money, but I had looked into three others and taken some weird streets and was just too damn tired to say no by the time I got here. Charleston has some seriously f'd up streets... feels like stepping back in time. Now I had to wash my face and put antibiotic cream all over it that has some pain killers in it because the bugs really did eat my flesh and my entire face is killing me. What the heck? I have never had biting gnats this bad. Oh well... I guess the fancy hotel it is my last hurrah before I go camping on the Outer Banks. I really hope it is too windy out there for hordes of biting gnats! If anyone has Oldog's real number please send it to me. Looks like the BRAN numbers are not for him I suppose and I wanted to crash at his place a few nights in Wilmington... maybe tomorrow night. I certainly do not want to hang out with the bugs. I am tired but got some good photos for y'all!!!

You too Rich. I think I might just scoot on through Wilmington. Charleston has a really neat historic district which I am staying in... over 1400 structures, plus one of the oldest in the US. I will come visit you, Oldog, after I get settled. I will have plenty of time and little money. Hope to get some good photos here before it starts to rain again on me! |

Good news Char. You are very close to my old stomping grounds. There is a lot of history in Wilmington the least of which is the Battleship NC. Jim may know the story about the restaurant across the river that got taken out when the battleship was parked in its current location. Your not to far from Ulywife and 1313... A must do is to inform Ulywife to round up the "gang" for dinner somewhere. I enjoyed meeting up with the C3ers for dinner when I was home last. My brother even enjoyed it. Have fun. |

Glad you enjoyed Charleston and you hit us when the weather was nice. One boiled peanut? No accounting for taste- I think I could live on boiled peanuts. You just weren't raised right! |

A must do is to inform Ulywife to round up the "gang" for dinner somewhere. Already done! Will see what Char's plans are once she's well rested. We're always up for dinner and a ride somewhere! |

It was the greatest feeling ever to cross over into North Carolina last night. Although I know this means that this trip is winding down, I feel like this is only the beginning. I will have to get the milage off of my shipping paperwork to give you some totals... but here is my best guess... 11 states 105 days 6000+ miles (???) 7 badwebbers homes (and counting) 5 new clutch plates (i think) 1 new tire 1 oil change 1 stuffed pegasus now named boomer Below, this is what I have learned: How great it is to be alive people !!!

Learning To Fly Or I No Longer Want to Be Normal I am now willing to cut all negativity from my life. I am now willing to love myself unconditionally and to love others through that confidence. I am now willing to live in total joy and peace by myself. If you would like to ride the total joy and peace train with me you are welcome, if not the bitch and suffer train is coming to pick you up in a few minutes. I am now willing to try any dream I can dream up. I am now willing to let go of the past despite what horrible wrongs I have endured. I am now willing to take a chance on loving others, trusting them and bringing to them a part of my soul. I am now willing to be who I am and never apologize for that, because I am unique, like a fingerprint from god, and I will never hide my true self. If you tell me I can’t do it, I will say ‘watch me’. If you are afraid to follow, I will say ‘here is how’. If you do not understand, well, I will pray that some day you will. If you don’t believe me, well I just don’t care. I am not going back. I will never be normal. |
