just got the bike broken down and checked the valves.....right within specs...DARN IT haha...now dont get me wrong, I am glad I dont have to go buy shims and replace them it is a little annoying...however I know that next time I do this I could most likely do it in half the time. It is really a pretty simple procedure, everyone should do their own valves. |

Reports at most bikes' valves are fine at the first check anyway. |

So are the "finger followers" specifically for measuring the valve clearances? That's what it seemed like from the service manual. |

You measure between the follower and the shim. Mine had 7 out of 8 that needed to be changed, I was able to re-use only 1 shim. |
