I put my barkers on late fall (just in time for the snow, lol) got it with the 1" quiet core. I had seen some posts that it didn't do much so I never put it in, took a ride yesterday and figured I'd drop it in & see. I was really surprised, it really cut the volume IMO, I thought it was dramatic. In fact with the barkers w/o the QC, I thought I need earplugs for the sound of this exhaust, not just wind noise. With QC, no issue from noise from th exhaust in hurting my ears (still wind noise to protect against of course). I may take the QC out actually cause I think it makes the sound too mellow. I love the sound w/o it although it's definitely loud, but love that sound over the QC sound. So, the neighbors are happier, but I'll see if I leave it in, I was missing the sound in just one ride, so I may pull it soon. Just thought I'd share. |

I am running a 1" quiet core and no packing it is maybe just a bit too quiet. Bike runs and sounds like a beast. If you don't want your 1" QC hack it up. cut off the tube part of it and try it. If it isn't too loud by then drill the remaining hole out to 1.25", 1.50"... |

Why do so many call this system...barkers...when it's actually Barker..? It's a guys name..not a dog making noise..! Mike |

1_mike - you are right. IDK the answer I can guess..Does someone go to 1_mike house or 1_mike's house? apostrophes indicate possession... 1_mike's motorcycle collection. apostrophes in contractions.... don't , can't... Wouldn't placing an s on Barker, Barkers pluralize it? There are lots of Barker exhausts out there... |

LoL, yes it's because it's Barker's, possessive, that's why. No caps or apostrophe due to internet short-hand writing propped up in bed while the wife was dosing. Kind of like Dean's exhaust vs the Dean exhaust (as in Dean's RT3 exhaust), whatever. To me it's all correct really, put on a Barker's exhaust, I put on a Barker exhaust (although that sounds a lil funny to me), it's all good. Main thing is that QC really does tame the sound, more than I was thinking it would, impressive - maybe too impressive for me, might need to mod it like DannyBuell suggests, that could be a good compromise. |

Dman, rather then modifying the can, why not just use one of the larger QC's. there is a 1 3/8th, ad 1 1/2" I believe. Barker will make one however large you like actually. |

LoL, yes it's because it's Barker's, possessive, that's why. I thought you bought and paid for an exhaust system from Barker. How come it is still Barker's exhaust? |

I forget which core I have in my Barker but I remember ordering the one that was supposed to have the least sound-reducing effect. 1 1/4", maybe? It does reduce sound somewhat, but it definitely isn't a big difference. It's still a bit too loud for my tastes. If the 1" core is too quiet for you, switch to a bigger one and you'll probably be happier with it. |

IMO the 1 1/2" is the best all around. The 1" is definitely noticeably quieter than the other two or with an open can. I'm currently running an open can with no packing or quiet core at the drag strip. It is loud! For the street I run the packing with a 1 1/2" core. |
