No trouble with the 35 watt HID lights on my Uly and CR. You will not believe how much better the light is until you experience it. Go for it! |

I've seen the stock bulbs brown the headlamp assemblies on XB's, so don't go blaming HIDs for it. Go for it, you won't regret it. |

I have 5000 miles on my 08 R, with 35w HID low beam and have no browning issues. This spring installing 55w for high beams. I do agree HID's are the s#!t. |

How are you guys avoiding blinding oncoming traffic? HIDs require a different reflector and when stuck in a regular reflector tend to spread their beam everywhere, including into the eyes of oncoming bikes (and cars). |

The problem with converting SOME lights to HID is keeping the "light ball" made by the filament(halogen) or the gas-arc(HID) the same. Since the 1125R has the same orientation between the two, the light pattern out the assembly remains the same. I put 35W 68k HIDs on Loretta 20k miles/3 years ago, no yellowing of the lenses. I do believe the output is lower than when new, but still wicked-bright. No delay relay, just plugged into the wiring... all good so far. Also, I've had NO oncoming drivers flash their hi-beams at me, day or night with the HIDs. Zack |

I never get flashed by oncoming traffic either. But I did notice a huge difference of light output to the left and right side of the bike. It lights up the interior of cars I'm passing. Of course projectors are great with HID's. |

If you are worried about oncoming traffic then get one of these... http://www.ktautopart.com/ Check out their motorcycle kits that include a projector lens. |

Kinder, those actually look really nice and aren't too pricey. Zac4mac,I'm not really understanding this:

The 1125 has the same orientation between what two? |

The OEM halogen has the filament oriented from base to tip. The HIDs I got had the arc in the same position. Halogens and HID have a "football" shaped light ball. As long as the halogen and HID are oriented the same and at the same distance from the base, the output pattern will be virtually identical. Optics is a cool part of physics... Zack |
