Is the Ulysses riding position more upright than an 1125CR with high bars? I'm selling my CR because I am just not comfortable on it, even with high bars and Uly pegs. I have arthritis in my right wrist and I'm not sure if it is the slight forward lean or the sensitive throttle that is causing me problems. I have tried a throttle rocker and throttlemeister and just can't get comfy. I am wondering if the Uly is a little more upright and might be a little easier on the wrist along with the more forgiving lowend torque of the XB engine. Posting in the Uly section as well. Any thoughts?

Before giving up due to throttle sensitivity, try an E-B-R ECM.

Or you could just change the bars and/or risers to something a little higher, that'd change your posture quite a bit...

I have a CR with the high bars, 1" drop pegs, and the Erik Buell Racing ECM. Also have a Uly with stock bars and pegs. I love both bikes. For me the CR's Erik Buell Racing ECM made a hugh difference in riding enjoyment. I have wondered if air box side grips might also be a good addition. There are a number of differences between the two bikes and as far as riding position goes, with my set ups and in my opinion, the Uly is a more upright riding position.

Don't "lean" on the bars...except for a short rest or when coming up to a signal.

Many complain about vibration, wrist soreness, etc.
To get the most out of bike control...don't lean on the bars.
The "other" plus side of not leaning on the bar (having good bike control)...much of the hand and wrist problems also go away..!

I have both the 1125R and the Uly and I'll be real honest I have less problems with my carpel tunnel syndrome on the 1125R because I'm able to squeeze my knees against the frame and that takes all the weight off my wrists. On the Uly, I get too relaxed and even though there's hardly any pressure on my wrists, my fingers go right to sleep.

!_Mike has it right. Handle the bars like they are eggshells and you will learn to hold you weight with your body.

When I notice my wrists hurting it is a warning sign that I am tensing up and using poor form. Often this happens when it is cold. Making an effort to relax brings back the enjoyment in the ride.

I've found the 1125 to be the most comfortable bike I've ridden (aside from the seat). 10 hour days are a breeze.

Thanks for the responses. As I suspected, I think the Uly is going to be a better "fit" for this old codger.
