Well Mardi Gras is going full force in St. Louis but I did enough partying at the crawfish boil last night! I just finished getting the geezer glide ready for riding and had traded places in the garage with the Uly. Well, the 09 headlight assembly finally made it here. I had ordered it in October!! I guess I should heat up the garage and put it on. I took the old one off and cleaned it up and set it next to the new one and I just can't see any differences. The new one's paper work does say it's the "World" model. I hope to see a difference on the road. I had done the switching of the headlight wires a long time ago and have loved having both lights on in bright mode. I also have taken the "flash to pass" switch and wired it to toggle button on the dash. While doing this Jphish told me a better way to do the headlight mod by soldering a bridge across two of the wires on the light switch. I didn't do it at the time but since I was messing with the headlight I thought now would be a good time. I switched the wires back to the stock configuration and installed the headlight assembly. I then took the switch gear off and disassembled and soldered the bridge. Now all the lights are on the same circuit and will go out during starting. This should help the battery get over the hump! I have a new battery showing up on Tuesday. Once installed I should be ready for spring! Now I guess I'll clean the garage. It's really weird to have both bikes running at the same time. The condition of my garage is proof it's been a while!! |
