So, my girlfriend got me a set of the 7/8 inch outer diameter throttlemeisters for christmas (part FH & ASDB2-H). WOHOOO!! However, I can not install them because of the bar inside diameter decreasing. I have read that people have installed them by drilling out the bars... My question is just to make sure I got the right model, and ask how it would be best to drill out the bars. What tools/method would you all suggest? |

Nm - he's got a CR, not an R. Our "R" bars are a constant ID, CRs aren't. Dunno John, I've heard the same about drilling, no details tho. Don't know what they look like, but would it work to turn the insert on a lathe? Z |

I just used an electric hand drill with a NEW drillbit. Worked fine, just take your time |

I turned mine on a lathe to get them to fit the CR bars. Took a little more than just turning down. If you don't have access to a lathe then drilling is probably the easiest route. |

Had to drill mine with a hand drill. Be careful and slow. Love the things though! |

what size drill bit did you use as to not make the bars too thin? |

I want to say 7/8" but I can't remember. Its been a while since I did it. Basically the bit slid into the bar end snuggly. Had to do it at a buddy's place as I don't own drill bits that size. (Message edited by kinder on March 04, 2011) |

Thanks for the suggestions, when I get around to doing it I will document my progress as I don't see any good instructionals on here. |
