I was hoping I would never see this day with this bike, but it happened. She came over on the right side. Damaged the clutch puck, swingarm spool, bar end, footpeg, and lever. Anyone know where I can get the puck from? And how much? Also damaged the right pod, are those still available? | ||

1. Clutch pucks are expensive., shockingly so, actually. Try Erik Buell Racing or your dealer. They run around $150 from the dealer. (ugh) It's a milled part, though -- pretty nice, really. 2. Swing arm spools are more or less generic. Ours use an M6 bolt (most use M8) but certainly there's a huge selection of available solutions for not too much money. I suggest one with a rather lower profile to help avoid ripping off the bung in a crash. 3. Bar ends are also more or less generic. If you didn't damage the bar at all then go after-market. If you did, the bar itself isn't expensive to replace, even at full retail. 4. There's lots of peg options from a few different vendors. Go ahead and upgrade -- probably will cost about what a replacement OEM piece does and offer a nice visual touch. 5. Levers are $60 a pop for OEM, or buy an after-market solution. 6. Pods are about $60 a pop, too. Check with American Sportbike, your dealer, or Erik Buell Racing. | ||

I replaced many of these parts about 6 months ago on my bike. At the time these were the OEM prices from an online dealer: Foot Peg $28.97 Brake Lever $39.32 Pod $47.96 Plastic Bar End Cap $2 Can't help you with the puck or spool. | ||

Thanks for the input guys, aside from a busted knuckle, I am fine. I had a long day at the shop yesterday and just lost my footing trying to get her back in the shop. It was a rough day already, that just was the icing on the cake. | ||

I had a huge moment yesterday. First ride on my new Dunlop Q2 (free courtesy of Dunlop warranty.) Ice cold tires after sitting in a freezing garage for a few days. You can imagine what happened after I made a right turn and goosed the thorttle some. Bike stepped out huge to the left then after about 3-4 tail wags the rear came back in line. Thank god the tire was so cold all it did was slip around on the asphalt or the result could have been way worse. Got my butt up off the seat quickly to try to minimize the bite of the tire if it wanted to grab and toss me over. Good show for the cars at the stop sign tho! |
