the Dirt Bike school is in Troy. It was $50 bucks. They do teach kids and I learned a lot... so I would say it was worth taking. I think you can get to the Dirt Bike school thru the MSF website. I'm teaching Basic Rider this year at the Ross/Pickaway career center along with Riders Edge at Farrow's. Should be a good year of teaching. |

My dad teaches the basic course also...he floats around all over the place. He mainly does it over on West Broad. He got his 3rd bike today. A 99 fatboy in mint shape...with 3200 miles. I don't know why people buy bike and put 3k on them then sell them...beyond me. |

Newbie Intro! Hi everyone! My name is Chris and I'm a Kettering Ohio resident. I just started riding 2 years ago. Over the weekend I purchased a 00'X1. 16K miles, blue with carbon fiber upgrades. I believe it has the stock exhaust and an aftermarket intake. Bike has the Buell Race ECM. Rode the bike home from the purchase approx. 30 miles. I absolutely love it! I did have a bad leak from the rear master cylinder but replaced the crusher washers and it appears to have fixed it, but it is too cold to ride far. I have a tiny oil leak some place I hope to pinpoint. I don't know the first thing about these bikes, I learned on a Blast but that is it.

Hello Chris! I live in Lebanon, and work in Springboro (Lexis). I'll watch for you around town. Thats a nice looking X1. If it looks like either a little base gasket leak (oil seap) or a little starter gasket leak (again, just a little spot), just keep riding. My M2 did that for 25,000 miles with no ill effects. |

Welcome squid! Home of rob dyrdek. The girlfriend and I planned on heading that way this summer and get pictures of us at the kettering skate park. We're big fans of fantasy factory. Couldn't see your tail light but I'm trying to sell a white rear brake light for an X1. If youre interested in it PM me..name your price. Tryin to get rid of some of this stuff I won't use. |

No. I can't find one either i looked. I heard it on the radio (99.7 blitz). Caught me by surprise too. I looked and looked all vets has listed for events is "liquidation sale". They said all kinds of stuff for 60 bucks, Jackets, pants, leather, armor. Prob wouldn't hurt to check out. Anyone else hear about this? |

I know this is a long ways out but does anyone make it out to Dayton for the blessing of the bikes? I went last year and it brings a great crowd. Sunday May 15th 10:00 am http://www.blessingofthebikesohio.com/ The location is about 10 minutes from my house. |

Welcome to the club Chris! Glad you came and introduced yourself on your own. I just now go to some of my email and saw yours from the website the other day. You're up on the members list now! I'd be up to riding over to the Blessing of the Bikes in May. I put it up on the website calendar and tested the invite functionality -- so in other words, you all got an email! If anyone else is interested we'll schedule a meet-up time and place to head over...but we do have 3 months to figure that out. :-) |

Snow! Seriously? I officially have cabin-fever now! What makes it 10X's harder is I have this "new to me" X1 and I just get to look at it. |

I had thoughts of riding too...but still just a tad too cold. Maybe if the weather keeps showing promise it won't be too much longer... |

OK I find it hard to believe Mike doesn't adjust his own clutches. How does that verse go? Give man a fish and he eats for day, teach him how to fish and he eats for a life time" Neil, was that the future wife I met Saturday night? |

Yup yup... I appreciate the offer Neil, but I'll get the clutch cable adjusted myself. Shouldn't be a problem! |
