I have an old Motoport Leather one-piece from when they were made in England.
Bought it from a guy at work for 100 bucks, 5 or 6 years ago.
I tested it when I lo-sided Loretta at about 20 -25 mph. some bruises only and light scuffs on the leathers!!
It's a little big for me, to fill it snug I have to wear a few layers, cotton is always first.
Cotton char is pretty easy to clean up after a bad get-off.
I hate it when they bring out the scrub brush... |

I looked at Motoport and only saw shirts which are made of cotton.

Here is the website for what I wear. Although it's not the same as compression athletic wear, it does wick moisture very well and, no melted poly in case of a slide.
Yes, kevlar is also a synthetic, it will melt if it gets hot enough. I considered silk also, any natural fiber is better for high heat conditions. |

Now ya'll have done it. While I was getting that website link, I saw some more base layers and ordered a pair of long under pants and a helmet liner, both flame resistant. Seems like every time I go online I spend money. |

Robrob, nothing there looks like it's made to go under my leathers. If you are suggesting that I replace my NJK's with kevlar there's no chance of that. The two materials don't compare. But thank you for the post. |

Patrick,
just wear what ever you would wear under your jeans. the vanson pants come with a mesh liner in them that you can take out and wash. As for sizing, i live in CT. so i just drove there and had them do the measurements. they took like 30 measurements between the jacket and pants. My suggestion would be to go somewhere near you that is authourized to sell vanson and have them measure you. that way you get a proper fit. it cost a little more to get it custom fit but its well worth the comfort. |

gong on what XB12S said - I dont live anywhere near Vanson or an authorized Vanson retailer, so I went to Mens Warehouse and they did the measurments for me while Connie was on the phone (speakerphone on my cell)
Fits great.
Yes, it costs more for custom, but it fits SO MUCH BETTER than off-the-rack and you get to pick colors/logos/lettering etc
I spent 1500 on my Vanson Drag2 suit and dont regret a single penny of it. |

Your welcome. I would never suggest someone change gear that works for them. Just offering information.

I beg to differ. Kevlar has no melting point, which is one of the reasons that it is used as an asbestos substitute. The fibers will start to disintegrate at 500 deg C. Leather on the other hand ignites and burns at 212 deg C. Leather dries out, ages and weakens over a short time. Kevlar does not. Leather looks really bitchin. Kevlar does not.

We replace our vests as UV, Sweat, cleaning and water exposure reduces the performance and life span.
Id be curious how they get around the UV and water issues with a Kevlar riding suit. |
