Ok, i know some people don't know what washing their bike is (I'm usually one of those), other than riding in the rain but I have my bike all apart doing upgrades and service and what not... Since I ride in the rain and don't wash it very often the engine and swing arm are very very dirty in hard to reach places.... Is there a spray or foam cleaner I can use while everything is apart that will make this thing shine again... I don't want all my new goodies shining on a dirty bike. | ||

For the plastics I use plexus. It works really well. You can get it at your favorite motorcycle shop. For everything else I use a vehicle detail spray. Just spray on and wipe off. | ||

Wet the bike using a garden hose set to a low flow rate (not spraying but like pouring out of a bottle). Use S100 motorcycle cleaner on wet bike. Agitate with soft sponge. Hose off. Wipe dry. If you 1125 has not been washed for a while, it's going to take a few tries. The frame and wheels of the 1125R is of flat finish, leaving the surface "rough" with many ridges for dirt and grime to settle. It makes it harder to clean after a long period of dirt and grime build up. The wheels with the brake dust, spent rubber, and especially the rear wheel with the added exhaust soot is even worse. If you leave that crap there long enough it's going to be very difficult to get it off. Protect All for the plastic. Maguire's Interior Wipe for the dull black plastic that eventually faids. The Maguires is also good for restoring clean wheels to a shiny, like-new finish. | ||

New wheels are going on - frame and outside of swingarm are ok, but the inside of the swingarm and the engine/front header area is a disaster area My motto is always why wash it when I could be riding it.... but I figure I'll clean it since it's all apart. | ||

If that's your moto then why bother cleaning it now? Eventually your new parts will match the old dirty parts. LOL! | ||

Good question.... Photo opportunity with new bike candy is all I can think of.... Maybe I'll start cleaning it more because since I put the clubmans back on my XBS will be used for long hauls. | ||

The best way to clean the bike is a product called Mr Moto wash. Put the simple greens and everything else away and buy Mr moto wash. Wet your bike down, spray on some Mr, Moto and let it sit for a couple of minutes. Hit the bike with a low pressure power washers and your done, any dirt left cleans off very easy. The only product that should be sold door to door. No I'm not a salesman. Rinse the heavy dirt off and spray on Mr Moto, then rinse again, no dirt stains of any kind. Try it, you'll be amazed!! | ||

Yes, Mr. Moto is pink, comes in a gallon jug for about @16.00. | ||

If you use S100 make sure you rinse, rinse, and rinse again. If you have never used it before it needs to be rinsed thourghly!!!! | ||

Wow! I just use car wash soap and my garden hose, with a spray nozzle! i use a sponge on a stick for the hard to reach places(used to clean drinking glasses.) And get this, I use compressed air to remove all standing water. | ||
