I'm in for $25 for Char's re-tirement! Let me know the path to take. This thread is the most entertaining on the BadWeb right now. I envy her and her adventure every time I drag my butt to work! |

We're leaving the 24th to be in Mandeville for the parade w/ friends. If we actually make it in one piece, I'll post my cell phone # & buy you a meal, chin wag about the existential purity of a long distance ride, etc. |

Anybody near Mandeville? . . can we get a set of tires ordered and delivered to someone or someplace competent to install them? |

Looks like Garrett Honda of Covington is the closest to Mandeville or the Northshore H-D (gack) shop in Slidell, other shops in Slidell, too. http://garretthonda.com/ |

I won't be in Mandeville until late Thurs night. Trapped with wife and spawn & visiting. But, I'll have a car there and can do what I can Friday and I'm more than happy to get away from the random chaos. |

Probably deal with the tire before then... But we could meet up for the parade maybe? |

Oh, I dunno'. My lovely wife is dragging me kicking and screaming to Mandeville to hand out with her churchie friends, fulling ignoring my agoraphobia and plea that vacations are work and work is a vacation. Of course, if you like hanging around with 5 kids and a preacher and his Mrs, along with an aging neobohemian walking personification of existential angst who has owned 70 motorcycle (that would be me) along with his talkative wife and our boys Einstein and Shreistein, lemme know. Or, if there is time for a breakfast to get me away from the mob, or an Étouffée lunch or dinner and a bottle of muchee coldee Abita (Louisiana) beer, my cell is three/one/four 620-4315. I'll probably quack about riding in Alaska, Mexico, around the US, Africa and Europe, tell you how jealous I am about your tour, and think up ways to find you employment in your trade. Correction: Mrs. Moxnix says you are indeed invited to hang out with our group at the parade. 80,000 expected to be there, so I'll be having a panic attack. More scraggly, but bathes at least once a month, given to wearing tweed jackets while riding a Moto Guzzi Convert with a sidecar. All the tweed, all the time, and a pudding basin brain bucket. |

I thought a Friday parade in Mandeville sounded more manageable for me than NO... I don't mind Christians if they don't mind a Buddhist! Also... if you do escape...we can burn some shit at the campground... Got a referral for a sport bike shop to do my tire, but they were closed today... I will call them tomorrow... Great day in NO...I will try to load photos a little later...Phone is about to die... |

The cops don't mess around... they use mopeds to track down criminals... then they put them on public display in tourist areas, changing the tires on their squad cars... smart! |

This group is so hip, we carry our own nirvana around on the half shell. Can't find a youtube version of Country Joe McDonald's "Holy Roller" to link to. I haven't smoked any whacky tabacky since my sordid youth, when I copped to doing it within the last year during an interview with the AK state troopers. After I'd been #1 in testing. But, it's okay with me if others inhale. If you can stand hanging out with a group of wing nutz in Mandeville, you can park the Buell at our hotel, leave yer goods locked in our room, and suffer the indignity of riding in a minivan to the parade. If a cycle shop is closed on Monday, they are "old style." |

Karl said "riding in a minivan". This is getting scary . . Charlotte, VooDoo, mini-vans, parades . . somethings got to give! |

My favorite bike shop is closed on Mondays. Ride Char ride. Hey you're lookin' good in the photo. But the expression looks like you are wondering if you will get the camera back. Stay down there a little longer, it went back to being cold up here. |

Great pics Char! I've been there once, when I was 11YO, sis was going to seminary there... Try to stop by the Cafe Du Monde, getcherself some coffee and beignets- they're open 24 hours! Do holler if you're heading thru my part of the country, and keep the rubber side down! |

The secret to laissez le bon temps versez is a minivan. Our hotel is in Covington, home of the Covington Brewhouse on the lakefront, where I hope to find some live zydeco. |
