No problem Chuck. The breaker bar is just hanging in the garage right now anyway and I don't think I'll need it any time soon. Just swing by on your way home, call and I'll give you directions. I'm not too hard to find, if you know where to look. Nine-seven-one, four-four-nine-three. |

Some good news for Geoff May and Buell racing in this thread from the "Buell Racing forum". Check out the link from Blake at the bottom of the thread. We've got to be out in force next Memorial day at Millers to watch Geoff and Erik and the boys kick some butt. Its gonna be a great year for Geoff and Erik Buell Racing. Hoorah! Ordering Buell parts from Bikebandit.com may not be the smartest idea... I'm just saying. |

So what ARE you saying Chuck? I am just about to order some parts for my Suzuki DR500 dirt bike. Is Bike Bandit a problem with JUST Buell parts or some other logistical snafu? Please elaborate. And glad to have you posting. Bob |

The last Buell specific parts I got from Erik Buell Racing themselves (gotta support em somehow!) but for any other generic parts, I go to Trackstar. I'd give them a shot first before going anywhere else...great prices and they are local (Ogden). (No, I don't get kickbacks from them, I just really like them and appreciate what they do!) |

BB's been great in the past with me and my other bikes, the Honda VFR and Suzuki M50. I think you'll be fine. Inspecting the packaging I'm getting from them and the parts are labeled with 'El Cajon Harley Davidson' so they're going to a dealer to order the parts from their stock looks like. The Buell doesn't have schematics and such on BB's site. I looked the parts I needed up by part #. I should have found the lack of Buell on the site listing a clue but went with them because of the good service I had from them in the past. They've filled, I'd say, about 70-75% of the order. I'll see if I can source the parts elsewhere. Maybe Erik Buell Racing. |

Thanks Chuck, I believe with what you have said I will place my order with them today. The Suzuki on their site has their part numbers and listed "as available". Kerri, glad to see you back safe from Pennsylvania with your Mom. I also like Trackstar for most newer items and agree with supporting local shops. I just got some parts from Wright's in SLC and they also are great to deal with. Come on spring! Bob |

I'm in San Diego again and tried the Sweetwater Harley here. He said he had to special-order them but would ship to my door. Nice guy. First one I talked to at a HD that didn't look at me funny when I said Buell. |

That is a cool story there Chuck, no look of fear or irritation at the mention of Buell, it would be startling I think. The annual used part/take-off part sale is this week at Salt Lake HD. It starts Tuesday. I like to go in and browse for Buell stuff. Does anyone need me to look for any specific parts for them? Or some of us could grab breakfast at the VI across from the dealer and then go browse the parts. I have to admit I'll be very likely to miss 1125 parts unless they are bodywork or have Buell labeling on them. Roostre, Any new development in your Death Valley plans? I've got my schedule through this summer so if you've got a date set let me know and I'll see if I can make it happen. |

Yeah, soooo... Nothing but a few belts that may fit a Buell, and a suspect set of PM brake pads, but they may be specific for PM calipers - so too much research needed. I'm gonna go back and see if one of the belts they've got is a 128 tooth belt for my tuber... There's a few Evo heads, but I need to find part numbers to see if they're 04+ I'd like to do a 1250 kit some day and take off heads from a newer sportster would be perfect. Anyone know if there's any market for selling cut down cam covers? They had several 04 (sportster) covers, I could trim and finish them then resell for a reasonable amount, but there's no point in spending the money if I can't move the part. Bob, I'm gonna work on my Cyclone's carb, where did you get the lighter spring you had in yours? |

Mike, I cannot remember exactly where I bought it but it came in a kit for the CV40 carb. I researched my several carb suppliers I have dealt with and they do not show lighter springs at all. Here is a link to a kit at Whites in SLC and is just about the same price I paid many years ago: "www.wrightsmotorcycleparts.com/productdetail.htm? productId=7786167&catalogId=&searchProducts=carb%2 0tuning%20kits" American Sportbike, a BadWeb sponsor has kits but ridiculously priced at over $100.00. I'm sure you have done your research and know just about what you want to do but here is a nice link where I got most of my info on CV40/42 tuning. "www.nightrider.com/biketech/hd_cv_mods.htm" Also you could always cut a coil or two off the stocker and get similar results but I chose to keep the stocker for obvious reasons. Hope all is well with you guys and here's hoping we can ride together some this summer. Stay safe, Bob |

Thanks Bob, I'll have to look at the jet kit parts I've got now (dealership installed in 2001) and see what's in there. I'm thinking I've only got to shim the needle a bit and check the spring. Then it'll just be cleaning any goop out. I've not cleaned the carb in the life of the bike, though I've been careful to use stabilizer when the bike is parked for extended durations. |

So, when Erik Buell Racing releases their bikes for street use, will he be going through dealers? |

Hi Brandon, good to hear from you again. I would think so but WHAT dealers is the question. Not HD thats for sure. Some rumors about those dealers who are currently selling bikes/ATV's with Rotax engines. Erik has said along with others on the inside like our own Court here on BadWeb that finding an outlet is one of Erik Buell Racing's biggest challenges right now. I personally will be just glad to see the new 1190's kicking some real butt on the track this year. I don't know if they'll make Daytona this year but hopefully Millers so we can both see some good "ass whooping" on the foreign bikes. Hope we can do some good canyon running together this year. Your're always a good partner to have along. Stay safe, Bob |

UPDATE: as most of my Utah Buellers have probably seen already the new 1190RS should be racing at Millers on Memorial day as its suppose to debut at Infineon, first, early in May. We HAVE to be there with our support. I know I will be buying tickets soon. Check out all the threads on it here on BadWeb. Amsoil race bike and street version below. WOW!

Bob - My company may be doing something for SBK weekend on-site. If everything works out, I'll post info... In any event, looks like I'll be hanging out Saturday-Tuesday. The 1125 is coming together nicely. Suspension, brakes, wheel bearings upgraded, new rubber, harness. I just have to get plastics finished and then go to paint. All told, I'm somewhere between 25 and 30 lb. dropped weight. April will be here not soon enough. J-money |

That sounds great Jeff. Looks like you'll be ready for some serious track time this year. And I'll just be doing some canyon running, every weekend hopefully, some race watching and finishing my cafe racer build. How about the rest of my Utah Bueller friends? Whats everybody up to with the riding season just around the corner? |

Been using my XB as a commuter now that I've got it set up for cold weather riding, and some winter gloves for Christmas. Fuel prices... that bike kicks my trucks 11-12mpg butt all over the place! Lots of projects for the Cyclone, but not much time to work on it. Please post up race info as you get it, I'd like to get out there to offer some support. The Amsoil paint job looks sweet! I also hope to do some corner worker days as Kerri suggested to cover the cost of an ART class. That cart track looks like a lot of fun! I wonder if they'll be doing a Super Art class also, might be worth working a few extra weekends to get out on the big track again. |

Yes, they are doing a Super ART...the schedule just came out. Check out utahsba.com for details. I'm interested in that one too! Will be doing a few APEX days then maybe trying my hand at racing since there's a new ladies class...who knows? Hope y'all are doing well! |

Hey Bob,were did you get that pic of the street version of the 1190rs?It looks like it is sporting a 250gp exhaust, very unBuell like.I saw a pic of the front of the new 1190 peaking out of a curtain--just the front of the fairing--somewhere and it looked a little like an MV to me,just wondering. |

Bob - I have two fenders for the Ninja 250 - one is scuffed up. I'll need to make sure the other is OK. Saxon: looky here: http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/406 2/616877.html?1297998559 |

Jeff, let me know; and Robert(Saxon59), from what I'm reading on BadWeb, the extra muffler will be on all the 1190 street bikes to meet EPA noise regulations, BUT, they can be removed in a matter of minutes maintaining the first performance muffler under the lowers. Remember, these first bikes (about 20, pure race versions) are to be around $40,000 to be raced and homologated into AMA racing. Erik has said that he is going to try and have 100 street versions for sale by the end of the year. Hopefully with slightly less race quality type components and much less cost. This is what I'm reading. I believe they will still be at least $15,000. Check out this article: "www.roadracingworld.com/news/article/?article=4335 9" for more info. Bob |

Brandon, the talk is that the 1190RS will debut racing at Infineon in California two weeks before Millers Superbike race so most likely the team will also race it at Millers. Sure would be nice to see them kicking ass there. If your planning on getting tickets I got an e-mail from Derrekk at Millers and he's once again giving us group prices. I'll send the info in a forwarded e-mail. Just tell him you're a member of BadWeb/Utah Buellers Group. He also said we will all save more going through him and not Smithtics. You gonna drive the mobile m*** lab? LOL. Anybody else, let me know and I'll also forward the info to you. Stay safe all |

I'd like to see the street version along side the race team's rides. I like looking at things I can't afford. Bob, the "MML" will surely be there. I need to quit being lazy and reserve my site though. |
