they are talking about the velocity stack which is a totally different piece.
The piece they are referring too is the rubber piece under the filter attached to the throttle body. |

I'm putting this hear because I don't wanna start a new thread about this, I've read on here and other places about the right side scoop thing (probably didn't understand it all since I"m not super mechanical), but I've decided I'd like to give it a try, needed or not, if I could find one cheap, so I found this

anyone else done business with this vendor or similar? I don't wanna spend the $200+ for one from American Sport Bikes since I don't really think it'll make a huge difference, but I'm in the Houston, TX area so it gets hot and humid as he!! here and even in 70 degree weather last week the fan would come on for a couple of minutes after my 40 min commute of mixed city and highway riding. but I know my Suzuki S-50 did that too for awhile since it hadn't been really ridden while it was sitting to be sold and after a month it stopped. but I like how it kinda balances out the look of the buell |

There's a cheaper solution. Buell makes the parts for a large right side scoop, comes in 2 pieces. They bolt right on. (maybe someone should verify this, I have a 2008 and not sure if it is the same for a 2003).
M0851.7AA is the outer piece, $28
M0852.7AA is the inner piece, think that was $15.
The fan still kicks on once in a while for me, but the right side scoop definitely makes a difference. One thing I noticed however, is that it directs more hot air through the bottom of the seat. This means while the engine is running cooler, my butt actually gets a bit warmer. Thinking about putting a heat shield along the bottom of the seat. |

I use the factory 2010 right side scoop on my 09 bolt. Just like stated, my bike runs cooler. And the seat was hotter. but I bought the heat shield from odie and that problem went away!

today I took off the air filter cover just to see what it was and if I needed to change it or what not and it's a K&N filter so I just need to get the K&N maintenance kit.
I couldn't find the ECM, I'm guessing it's the black box that's above the batter but below the fuse box? I don't know what I'm looking for, hence the not being able to find it.
and as I was looking over the bike I noticed the engine covers look a little tarnished? not really tarnished but like baked on dust, I'm sure a little cleaning would fix that, and I noticed on the rear engine cover there's a spot of oil or something on top, not a huge pool of oil or anything but I didn't get enough of the bike tore apart to really see much.
and of course the muffler and pipes right by the muffler are kinda rusty. it's a 8 year old machine so this stuff happens, wonder what the best way to clean up rust on exhaust pipes/muffler are |
