tell me all the good things and bad things about the 1125 iwant the one with the high bars. i now have a xb9city how is the parts avaablebilty are there many mechs that are trained on the 1125? | ||

Too much to list. Tons of power, buttery smooth.
09/10 models have a less than stellar stator, but if it fails you can get it rewound via the aftermarket.
Same as the XB and pretty much any other late model Harley.

The 1125R is very different from the XB. Many things are improved, but some things are not so good. The XB is much, much simpler and easier to maintain, cheaper to own and operate. The 1125 handles better, has phenomenal brakes, and is much, much faster. 1125 has much more range than any XB except maybe the Ulysses. Not many mechanics trained for either the XB or 1125 so I say it's equal risk. I say parts are probably equal availability for either bikes. If you go to a dealership you WILL order and wait. If you go to American Sportbike, probably not. Unfortunately, AS does not stock all OEM parts. My advice for anyone who wants an XB or an 1125, get the Service Manual and learn how to wrench on your bike. This may be true of almost any bike but even more so on the Buells. I would not trust ANY H-D dealership! | ||

Nope WRONG. I have personally worked with three. Buell/HD had a specific training course for the Loki platform. They are out there...but you must find them, grasshopper  | ||

I live in SoCal. I've tried ALL the H-D Buell dealers. Only the San Diego ones know how to work on Buells. I'm speaking from personal experience after having several different dealers screw up simple maintenance work on the XB. I wouldn't trust them with an 1125! | ||

Always had good service on my 09 1125r at Antelope Valley HD... Don't know if they are "certified" techs but they seem to know what they are doing and were very fast. | ||

I've been riding my 09 1125r for 6 weeks now. I can't compare with the xb9 but I find it surprisingly comfortable and incredibly fun to ride. A really fantastic bike, I'm enthusiastic. | ||

The brakes are the same as XB? No way dude. No way. Ride them back to back and see for yourself. If you have an XB with the ZTL2, maybe. Mine is an '06 so it doesn't have the same brakes. Worse than what BMW? the S1000R? I'm getting 38/42 mpg on my 1125R on a sport ride/Hwy. 40-45 on my XB12R sport riding/highway. I still have both bikes and I ride them back to back. YMMV. | ||

You have been misinformed.
No ABS does suck, but the brakes are not worse than a random BMW.
I've gone 230 miles on two of my 1125's before having the gas light turn on. Only my Uly can best that due to its larger frame than normal XB's. (240 miles best) | ||

(240 miles best) The best I've got on 1125CR is 150 miles on a tank. I was getting the same on XB9S, and only once I reached 59 mpg on it. But usual mileage was around 43-46mpg. The best I've got on 1125 was 35 mpg. | ||

I get between 35 and 40 MPG on my R. I don't know how others get better than that unless they ride the speed limit at all times. | ||

I think you want a CR with high bars and drop pegs it will give you a seating position almost exactly that of an XB. And there the similarity starts to part ways, As before mentioned the power is SO smooth and linear in delivery it can be very very decieving(see tickets, etc etc.)The brakes are IMO much much better than my 06 xb12 were but I can only attest to the front brake as I just learned that motorcycles have rear brakes  There are 3 known problem area's that I know of all are readily and easily fixed. Stator get after market rewind, Clutch leak you can buy seal kits keep em handy takes 40 min to change it, 3rd problem is getting very •••••• irritable when you can't ride IT CAUSE IT WON"T STOP •••••• SNOWING SHYT SHYT SHYT!!!!!!!!!! |
