I'm kidding of course but it seems par for the course around here. I'm actually referring to USA and Taiwanese Accessories. It's a boring weekend of rain here in SoCal so I needed something to do. Probably the worlds most expensive tank protector! As installed on the bike. Not Carbon Fiber but the next best material: Aluminum! Oh and it's made in Taiwan. As installed on bike's left bar. Right Bar. OEM P-Clamp vs Aluminum clamps. OEM P-Clamps. Notice the right side....is that the original OEM clamp or is that a stock replacement scrounged up by the dealership? Not sure why it looks different! After - Looks much cleaner. I think I will do the rear P-Clamp as well. |

Rogue, I also installed larger washers on the bar ends. I noticed the ones that came in the pack were pulling through the rubber. |

Curve Carver, I did not modify the bar ends at all, just put them on and tightened them. I had to leave a bit of space for the throttle to allow movement of the grip. I did the same for the left side but I think I will close that gap up. I love the Throttle Rocker. The position I have it in allows me to have more leverage during normal acceleration. But it really comes into its own in the highway. No more tired hands. Well, not as much anyway. I can open up my hand and relax it. |

Titanium has not become the ultimate in materials any more. Not even in aircraft, but it is used. CF is THE material of choice for aerospace and motorcycles. Nevertheless, Aluminum remains the largest material used in both types. So, I would say the top three materials for motorcycles would be, CF, AL, and in lesser cases Ti and Magnesium. Don't write off AL because the future may have a hybrid version of this material that is better than CF with lesser weight. We shall see. |
