Anyone remember what they guessed the 1190RS would cost last year? I said it would be positioned exactly as the 1098R when it was launched, when half the regulars were predicting $15K-$20K. Pay up suckers! |

quote:the two uber-Ducatis shown here. Neither the $39,995 1098R nor the $72,500 Desmosedici RR lays claim to being the most expensive sportbike on the market-that distinction goes to the $120,000 MV Agusta F4CC-but both represent their respective pinnacles of race-bred engineering.
A steal among similar bikes, eh? . . . I think it's a great place to start when you are in the business of making RACING motorcycles. This is going to be fun. |

Think the 1190 engine can fit in our 1125? I dont see why not. outside of the engine is the same so i am assuming the motor mounts are too. never the less I do think the bike looks great...but that price. yikes. If I had to guess I am assuming that they put back in the 08 stators |

Congratulations and a big pat on the back....now back to the amazing bike at hand. And how can you state its priced "exactly" as the 1098R when final pricing seems far from final? I agree the exhaust looks like an adapted 1125 can with a little resonator hookah. At least some things never change...Buell exhausts (OEM) have always been spectacularly ugly and over weight. Not sure anyone except Buell-a-philes are going to like that odd front fairing. However the seat and the trellis that support it are pure art. Of course I want it...but I think I would have to change the exhaust right away. |

Great bike. Great looks. Even the exhaust is looking great. 2stroke look, Great . The bike is just amazing. Erik Buell deserved to release a bike like this. |

>>>>>Buell exhausts (OEM) have always been spectacularly ugly and over weight. Hahahahaha . . . fill in the blanks: 1) A Buell XB exhaust weighs: _________________. 2) A Suzuki GSXR exhaust system weighs: ___________. Hint: You seem to know the weight of the Buell exhaust system. Multiply it by 3X and you'll be close. You are correct about one thing. Buell exhaust systems are ugly. Although I'd like them both to do what I'd like . . fact is . . looks are for women and engineered efficiency is for exhaust systems. You want "looks" in an exhaust system, get an Aprilia. We'll wait for you at the finish line . . I'd like to see it. |

>>>but I think I would have to change the exhaust right away. By the way . . . that ability was engineered in. The exhaust was designed for a reason. It's a stroke of pure genius and works. If you were say . . . to have no cares about passing the E.P.A. tests so that you could sell your bike (you have to have one "available for sale" for homologation, or being allowed to race at places that enforce noise requirements (be mindful these noise requirements require STOCK CONFIGURATION) . . . well . . you'd be relegated to "hobbyist" status. Buell is in the business of designing, making and selling racing motorcycles. |

IMO Kawi has taken exhaust ugliness to new levels - first with its Z1000 gold ray guns and now with the last few generations of the ZX10R. That being said - I am no fan of the 1125R's exhaust (looks wise) but at least it's in the right place and lord knows it delivers the goods. The HPE cures the ugliness factor on the 1125 but, gawd its loud. For pure exhaust sex I think MV Agusta (F4 and the new F3) are virtually unparalleled. The 1190RS is gorgeous, the ugliness his hidden - the way it always should have been IMO! |

It is an amazing machine but without traction control its going to have a hard time competing in the market, even when the more affordable ones come out. Hopefully, if he doesn't have the resources to do it himself, perhaps he can partner with Bazaaz or someone to develop a TC solution. My favorite detail is that incredibly sexy rear subframe.
