from a press release by Erik Buell Racing...
ERIK BUELL RACING AND AMSOIL ANNOUNCE PARTNERSHIP Includes Support for Erik Buell Racing Superbike Race Team, and Production Lubricants Development and Supply East Troy, Wis. – Erik Buell Racing LLC is pleased to announce that they have reached an agreement with AMSOIL INC. which includes development and supply of production lubricants for the new Erik Buell Racing motorcycles, as well as a three year sponsorship of the Erik Buell Racing race team in AMA Pro Superbike. “AMSOIL is a great story of American engineering and entrepreneurship, and we are very proud that they recognize similar characteristics in our new motorcycle company and have chosen to work with us,” said Erik Buell, “They were the first company to introduce synthetic oils to the consumer market, and have become recognized throughout the industry as a leader in lubrication technology.” "We are very impressed with the development process, level of integrity and technical expertise with which AMSOIL approaches their products. They have a really strong internal technical team and also use independent third party firms to check their products against the competition on a regular basis to make sure they know where they stand," said John Fox, engineering director at Erik Buell Racing. "Their commitment to continuous improvement is exemplary." "AMSOIL is very happy to be involved with Erik Buell Racing with their new street motorcycles. We saw a great match in the way they are using the extreme world of racing to push their new 1190 to the maximum so they can be sure it will be over-built for street use." said Jeremy Meyer, Race Program Manager of AMSOIL Racing, "That is what we have done for so many years at AMSOIL. Our company's founder came from the world of fighter aircraft, and has always driven us to push the extremes of performance." The Erik Buell Racing/AMSOIL #99 AMA Superbike race team will compete with Geoff May riding. The team will start at Daytona using the Buell 1125RR model raced last year, and expects to debut the race prepared version of the new Erik Buell Racing 1190RS at Infineon in May. |

Erik Buell Racing will NOT be selling Amsoil products in the future. Amsoil has a dealer network in place. They have however subjected the Amsoil products to some very rigorous testing and has found impressive results. All Erik Buell Racing motorcycles will ship with Amsoil and the race team will be using Amsoil. Very cool stuff . . . I want to write Amsoil and tell them how excited we, as a Buell community, to have them on board. |

This makes me feel even better, for I have been using their oil in my 1125CR. I'm so happy for Erik and his crew, it seems as if things are really coming together. |

Great news for Erik and his crew. Glad to hear that Amsoil meets Erik's testing and standards. I switched to Amsoil in my Buells after HD killed the line, was not buying another quart of Syn-3 again. |

Wow, good timing with this announcement on a full moon tonight! And to think I've already started using Amsoil in my '96 Lightning last year, that and this announcement portends I should use it the 1125R as well. Rock on, Erik!!! |

I suspect these is some confusion at this point. Not to worry, one way or the other, you will be able to buy Amsoil. I'm writing Amsoil to day to congratulate them, welcome and acquaint them with the Buell community . |

That's completely understandable at this point. I suspect that I will also be changing from Mobil-1 to Amsoil. |

In the event that an Amsoil rep reads this here thread let it be known that I, too, will be switching from current brand(Redline) to Amsoil. |

I just wish my local dealer carried Amsoil in addition to the Harley junk. If the bike gets serviced by HD, I run Syn3, but if I do the work I always put in Amsoil. |

If Amsoil supports Erik's endeavors I believe I can support them....sounds like I'm sourcing Amsoil lubricants for my bikes now. Good news for Erik Buell Racing. Wish them a successful season. |

I've been running Amsoil in my 73K '98 S3T since early on. Never had to open the engine. Now have it in the '09 XP. It's no secret that Amsoil's great stuff. I like it when quality US companies get together! |

I'm writing Amsoil to day to congratulate them, I would recomend we all at least email AMSOIL, if not write them, to let them know you are changing your oil over to AMSOIL. I'm sure it can't hurt to let them know the money they put into Erik Buell Racing isn't going to waste. |

When the news first broke about the Erik Buell Racing/Amsoil sponsorship, I sent an E-Mail to the Racing Department commending them on the sponsorship and my feelings about it. Today I got a E-Mail asking if it would be ok to use my quote in upcoming publications....I agreed of course ...I haven't been "published" since my school yearbook days . Exciting times as Court would say...Go Erik Buell Racing!!!! |

Yep, I heard from Kevin McBride, V.P. of Marketing and Communications today too. The President, Al Amatuzio may be commenting on their sponsorship in his April column. In any case, we look like vocal and loyal customers and that will, hopefully, underscore the value of their sponsorship. More proof that they are another great American company that values their customers. Larry |
