Finally hit 20K mile on the XT today! I bought it as a "demo" bike with 28 miles on the odo. Oct 24 2009. I was at 18+K after one year, but have slowed down my riding as of late. I could give a semi-long report on the bike thus far, but there really isn't much to report. Except the bike is bad a$$. The bike is just flat out awesome. No major problems at all. Runs stronger / better today than the day I bought it. My most frustrating issues have been some fouled plugs - No big deal. While no bike is "perfect", my Uly has been the perfect bike for Me. The bike does everything and more I need it to do, nearly everything I'd like it to do, and I still have a long way to go before I ride the bike at it's performance limits. I made the right choice, and am grateful I pulled the trigger. Erik and the Elves hit it way out of the park IMO. The XT has lived up to it's billing: Multi-state, multi-1000 mile+ trips - Check. Camping, dirt roads, around town, over the hill and through the woods, the list goes on. Has failed at nothing, exceeded my needs at everything. Thanks Erik, and thanks to you BWBers, who have helped make the miles enjoyable ones! |

I love my XT as well. I agree that it is about the perfect bike for me. My only wish really is for a bit more top end, but there have only been a couple of times I have ridden it hard enough to really need that. I will admit to wishing at times that it had the 1125 motor. Other than that, though, pure bliss. |

Your MPG should improve after 20,000!!! I gained about 6 to 8 MPG at just over 20,000. Ride On! |

I love mine, too. Although I think it's fugly, it really is a terrific bike. Hopefully when the new bikes start terrorizing the streets there will be an honest to goodness sport-touring bike. I like the direction Erik was heading with the Barracuda II and hope he keeps us in mind when new bikes come out; something along the lines of a Triumph ST but with Buell attitude. |

Dyna, Yep, only thing I'd like is some more top end. But it does have all I need. The state of Arkansas told me so Union, Hope so, that would be awesome! Billyo, Blasphemy! The Uly is Not Fugly! She is beautiful, and so is my KLR... Want a true sport-tourer as well. But even if one comes out I'm a long way from being able to buy one. |

The 1125 has way too much top end! I took my R to work today, first time in over a month. I was on the highway in the left lane stuck behind some BMW, and I said to my self "Why the hell are we going so slow?" I looked down, said a buck ten on the speedo. Whoops |

Froggy, thats what I call scary fast. Not because its scary to go 100+ but because its scary that you got there and didn't ever realize it. Not realizing how high my speed was has gotten me into trouble more than once. |

Indeed it is scary fast. I've brought it up to 150 once for a really brief moment, and backed off. The bike was fine, it wanted more, and it was clearly going to do it. I just had a hard time keeping myself positioned correctly on the seat with giant turd I ended up laying. The bike is buttery smooth at both 15 and 150mph. At least on my 1125CR, I have a hard time holding on over 100mph, so its not as easy to creep up on the speed. |

I've topped out at 130 indicated on the uly. I know when I hit 90-100 on it. Would like to reach 140 actual. 150 would be just awesome. Will a 1250 kit with stageII heads get me to 140? Fastest I've ever been is 170 indicated on a gxsr. Wow what a rush. I'm a big boy. The physics start to change at about 145 or so. At 170, trying to get "small" and hang on is a chore. Okay -it's too nice out, I'm going riding!! |

Bulldogs are ugly, too, but they're still great dogs and have a lot of character! |

First off, congrats on the 20K. Let's all hope Erik has a replacement in mind. I know, gotta walk before you run, but got fingers n toes crossed. Second, the uly may not be a Ducati as far as looks go, but man, as pretty as some of those are, the trade off of the valve adjustments, etc, would not be worth it for us at this time. Don't know bout y'all, but we've had people walk plumb across the parking lot for a closer look at our babies . |

Darn pretty, but personally I think I am too old for a second childhood! My chiropractor would REALLY be getting rich if one of those was in the stall! So glad for the younger generation to take something like this to its limits! Go Erik Buell Racing!!! |
