I know I will need a top triple from Erik Buell Racing : ), clip ons, fairing stay, GPR stabilizer and bodywork to start with on a limited budget. Also need a stand alone quickshifter. Does anyone have any race parts they are selling or know someone who is? I am comfy with the stock suspension for now. I can use the belt drive for most tracks in the southeast. I can't seem to give this bike away so I might as well race it : ) I can't afford any of the Erik buell racebikes or one would already be in the garage. I'm a WERA expert racer with great results and could do some damage with any buell racebike. |

Reach out to Michael at Erik Buell Racing. He can get you set up, and they are pretty good (damn fantastic, really) about supporting club racers. The quick shifter isn't too pricey -- use a pull type with a GP shift kit -- and it will wire into the harness directly, no additional electronics required if you use the Erik Buell Racing ECM. The bodywork and stabilizer are going to be big $$$ any way you try and do it. This is my 2nd season racing the 1125r, and they are fun bikes to race. Our first race is this weekend, but it's on a track I've not been on before, so I don't expect to do all that well. |

I need to get a stabilizer also, raced last year without one. The quickshifter was out of my price budget last year also, never really felt that I needed it, but I can see how it would be nice. |

I've never had one until now. I've still not ridden the bike with it, so this weekend will be my first experience with one. Presently, I just preload the shifter and blip the throttle. She slips right in. |

JD, you going to MSRH this weekend? I'd like to come out and watch the races but I think I'm going to be too busy... I wish you good luck out there. MSRH is a fun track but very bumpy in spots and some of the concrete patches can be unnerving...but you'll do fine! |

Would a CR to a R front end swap be a pain? I won't ever race without a quickshifter again. Its saves time and its one less thing to worry about! |

I think all you really need for the R fairing is a fairing bracket. Erik Buell Racing has some take-off for cheap. I could be wrong but I think if you swap to the R fairing you should be able to mount the steering dampner from Erik Buell Racing. However there is a steering dampner that will work with the stock CR. |
