Anyone want a FREE COBRABuell.com email address? I've gone ahead and setup COBRA with Google Apps. What's that mean for you? Well, if anyone would like their very own COBRABuell.com branded email address, just ask! Yes, you too could have an email address like "bwestbrook@cobrabuell.com". It will amaze your friends, gain you popularity, and make your Buell run faster and lean even lower (is that even possible?)!!* Limited Time Offer -- Accounts are going fast -- Must Act Now!! See the login screen at: gmail.cobrabuell.com * These claims have not been approved or supported by Buell, COBRA, BadWeb, my Mom or my wife. Your mileage may vary. |

Does anyone in our club have any experience with ecm spy? Should i just suck it up and try and get an Erik Buell Racing ECM? I have an extensive electronics background so wiring and soldering is nothing big. btw i would like an email from cobra. |

I've played with ECM Spy, but since I have a 2008 it doesn't do too much for me -- not nearly as much as pre-2008. I have the software and the cable if you want to mess with it sometime. Check your email for your new COBRA email. :-) |

Someone else will have to speak up as to any gains you may get from changing the mappings. I only used it to try and troubleshoot my stumbling problem last summer -- I didn't tweak anything. |

John Haignere (ll7) http://www.badweatherbikers.com/cgibin/discus/boar d-profile.cgi?action=view_profile&profile=ll7-user s Is very much experienced with ECM spy. He has race files and such that can be installed if you so desire. He helped me out with a TPS reset last year. |

i HAVE ecm SPY AND THE CABLE for about a year now and still working on finding a good map for mine. But from the dealer side of things getting more fuel to these air cooled v-twins is always a good thing. Josh, call me sometime soon. Email around and get some maps and we can play with it more. On another note does anyone know and can teach me how to data log....? |

This is a strange thing to bring to this forum and I know that there are a lot of charity's out there. Today in my management operations meeting, a close colleague and even closer friend brought it to the attention of the group that he had been diagnosed with bone cancer. Now have never organized any kind of charity ride or how they work so any info would be great. I want to put something together to help raise money for his family and for his procedures. If this is not the place to discuss this, please move it or don’t respond. I’m not looking for handouts, at this point I'm still in shock. Any help would be greatly appreciated. |

I don't see how it's a bad idea or topic. I don't know how much money a charity ride would bring for his family. We did a huge luncheon at work and 50/50 and the winner just gave all the money back for donation. we did this every payday for like 2 months and we scored right around 2k for a guy at our work that has stomach cancer. I don't know if you have a huge organization or not but I work for Columbus Regional Airports so considering the company it was the best but it helped. With all that being said I'm totally for a ride to raise money against cancer having just lost my grandmother last june to it. |

I'm pretty much free this weekend except sat night I got a buddy playing at the alarosa. I'll pm you my number and text me a day and a "flexible" time. |

Josh, I think it's great to ask for us to come together for a good cause. I'm more then willing to help out with a charity ride in whatever way I can -- provided we're not riding on a day that (a) we'll freeze to death or (b) we have to put skis on the bikes in place of tires. :-) I can empathize here...my wife began having to fight off melanoma stage 1 cancer herself about 18 months ago. Thankfully we've been both very diligent and lucky not to have had it progress any further. This isn't about her and she's doing very well, but it's something we live with every day -- and goes to show that since cancer accounts for 25% of all deaths in the U.S., many of us are or will be affected by some type of it at some point in our circle of friends and family. Here's one idea for you on raising money: Contributions based on miles ridden in the cold weather...for instance, someone might donate $0.25 per mile, with a maximum of 100 miles so they don't go broke if we ride all day. LOL |

Herald - i'm not gonna lie i have no idea...I never tried them...I bought it to reset my tps...lol and it came with those maps...I can bring the usb to anyone. edit...i just looked at them i have maps for x1,uly, xb9, and xb12...i couldn't tell you if they are upgrades or not. I could compare it to mine the next time i'm with my bike. (Message edited by fick15 on February 11, 2011) |

Thanks fick. I really am tired of the random sputter at low rpms. The other day i was comming out of the driveway and PUTTT!! as im turning. just about lost it. its like one piston just will decide not to fire randomly. supposedly upgraded maps help smooth this out. |

ahhhh!!! I need to quit waiting so long on buying stuff! Last week i went to ebr.com to get the 6mm front rotor and there out with no plans to make more. Just got off the ddm tuning website. and they discontinued the slimline ballasts. There isnt even a directory for motorcycles anymore. What gives? Are there any other companies that make something small enough to fit behind the stock wind screen? |

I have a regular HID ballast behind my XB-S flyscreen. It fits without issue, but you won't be able to fit anything else back there. That being said, vvme.com still has the slim ballasts as an option for their kits. That Erik Buell Racing brake disk must've been one of their biggest selling items. I wonder what happened. |

herald - you know what that's happened to me once or twice...usually happens on freeway travel. Read somewhere that the ecm trying to read adjust for air/fuel. It's kinda like a burp in the system...I could understand if it did it and we had mountains everywhere but it's pretty level around here. I need to find someone thats really good with ecmspy. My brother has a Honda Ecm guy that's a god with mapping i wonder what he could could do with a buell. I keep looking for stuff for my bike and when i find something i like it's discontinued and out of stock so i know how you guys feel. Took me forever to find a header that i liked. But i got one of that jayden guy that sells all kinds of buell stuff on ebay..He sells some good stuff. |

I have one full set up. one ballast, one bulb. I will do 30.00 picked up. I also have the xb headlight with 2 xenon lamps and ballasts installed will sell for 150.00 pickup, or 175.00 shipped. I switched to a different lighting system. |

do you have two of the regular basllasts or just on behind your flyscreen? Just one, for low beam. I much prefer leaving the high beam as Halogen. That way you can flick it on and off all you want, without worrying about the dark startup time, or toasting your ballast (which don't really like repeated on/off cycles). Plus, with a good HID low beam, you'll almost never need your high beam. |

I have both the xb light set up as xenon on the pair i am selling with the light assembly, with two ballasts. or I have one set (one bulb and ballast) loose to sell. Also on a previous post about ecm spy mike reffered to me (John Haignere) as Ll7 but I change to shagg1970, just FYI. I would be happy to help any one I can. |

Yep all healed up and bike is all back in shape too. I rode it to work this morning, feels great. Got my wife an 04 blast I am working on customizing for her. She is a new rider so we have signed up for the new rider course, I am going to take it with her for support, plus I like to take at least one class a year. You and mike took a dirt bike class last year. Where / Who offers that and do they teach children too? My son is 10 years old. |
