hello, this is my first post here, I'm not from us but sometimes come here read some topics and learn. the reason why I feel like being forced to post, because I encountered some problems recently. 1. engine stops itself. it did this 3times yesterday. @ 35km/h, 20km/h, and 5km/h after It just began to move I was rly scared when it did this, I was on the ring road, and the engine just stopped itself like the kill switch, I quickly tried to restart, but it couldn't. LCD flashed like the battery was dead. I pulled over, turn the key off and on, then it started. I am so happy that I was preparing to get out,not running in,so i was not very fast and was on the right side. the other times when it killed itself, I just restarted immediately, It worked. 2.also on the ring road, the way back. was like 70km/h, and suddenly I got COMM ERROR msg on the screen. I was total;y scared, cause the first thing I thought is wtf should I do if the engine stops again! well, the engine worked on, the normal screen came back, after 20 secs maybe... some extra infos for my bike. 2009 CR, 3200 km, recently changed IC because the older one got some water in it. all stock. sleep outside, open air. Battery condition is fine, around 14v all the time. more important I think,it's these days, it rained, it's cold, and very very very WET. the weather condition that day was, @10pm, I tried to put my key in, but I couldn't, it was blocked by something, possible frosted...I opened it with help of some boiling water on the key. well, that's it. My bike is still in warranty, so I ll send it back. I'm just wondering if someone here had similar problems and/or might know why/how. sry about my bad english. best regards, ts update. Diag Codes are: COMM ERROR P0193 B1005 (fuel problem ) (Message edited by tsnake on February 03, 2011) |

check the connector to the ic, the comm message means the ic and ecm are not communicating properly. I got the comm error once, it was because i had swapped the ic and hadn't got the cable plugged into the ic all the way, so check the connection of the cable to the ic. My 08 did the same thing , found out the battery was low, not enough to have the ecm message but low enough to screw it up. I keep it on a tender and its not happened again. Scott |

i was having the same issues, getting the same "P0193 fuel sys pressure error" code, took it to the dealer several times, they finally found the fuel pressure sensor was the cause. i haven't had the chance to ride much since, it is winter here now, but it seemed to take care of the problem. |

I see you are in Paris. Does the Euro version have a sidestand switch? If so, could be your problem. |

I would at least cover the bike if it has to be stored outside. Sounds like a simple bad connection. Check the battery connections and ecm connector. |

@Velocity thanks, I rode a lot these days, so if everything is fine, charged normally, voltage won't be a problem. @Ohsoslow thank you, I will suggest the dealer. @Aeholton Yes, it has a sidestand switch, but I don't know if the switch is triggered somehow, will it appear as normal a "sidestand" on the screen? I did not see anything when it stoped,I first checked the screen quickly enough. @Bueller4ever thanks,I really would love to cover it, but my first IC got fog, I don't know too much why it got fog inside, since then, I didn't cover it anymore. THE THING IS, till yesterday, I knew big rain is coming, I covered my bike, left enough spaces for it to breath. AND TODAY, THE IC SCREEN HAD FOG AGAIN, SUDDENLY, A LOT!!! I had enough, and don't wanna bother the dealer anymore, well, whatever. At least, before knowing the rain causes all these connection problems, I won't cover it again... LUCKY ME!!!!!!!!! I just changed the cluster 1 month ago! and a little update: today, the bike did not stop anymore. but, engine check lights showed up 2 times, with a greater engine break, back to normal itself after some seconds. and the COMM ERROR showed up again, and this time it stayed longtime till I turned off the ignition. I'm a good person, why I'm cursed like this...?} (Message edited by tsnake on February 04, 2011) |

The IC's aren't sealed, so moisture can get in and out. Mine fogs up, but normally goes away after 10 minutes of riding. |
