07xb12ss and GoFast, I'm glad we got to meet before riding 15+ hours together to DragonIV. I enjoyed the ride today. We need to do it again soon. The weather was awesome, sunny and near 70. There were no 'oh s@#t' moments. There's only one problem. I think you two need to check your brakes. I'm afraid one of you lost a chunk of beryllium.

It was a balmy 44 degrees when I left my house today and 35 or 36 when I got back. I'm thinking I'll have to wait for a while to ride again, too much salt and goo on the roads here, plus I think we're going to get another whopper snowstorm soon. |

It's not mine - Beryllium rotors weren't even a race option in 03! Awesome ride - there was one "oh $h!t" moment when we passed the sheriff at a tad more than the speed limit. Hay bales saved the day LOL |

It is supposed to be a joke. I was trying to lighten things up a little. We actually did have a great ride. Over lunch, it was mentioned how serious some discussions become around here. It seems like some people hear the problems a few people have with their machines, then focus on the problems instead of just enjoying riding. I just thought I'd try to get a laugh or two. That is actually a CD that I placed against my brake rotor and traced on. I trimmed it to shape with a dremel tool. It took me five minutes. I was trying to make it look like a chunk of exotic brake disk stuck in the front of my fairing. Haha |

On another note, the front end clicking noise that I focused on enough to sling my bike from the ceiling and re-torque my steering head bearings went away on its own. It was there when I left yesterday morning. When we stopped for a break after thrashing our bikes a little, I tried to demonstrate the noise. It was gone. I have a little over 6000 miles on the clock. It must have just 'broken in'. Haha. |

Was that your Conway Twitty Greatest Hits CD? The ride was great. Got to meet some of Texas Finest, had a great lunch and put a couple hundred miles on the bike. Had Fun, until the hooker took my glasses anyway. Rob |

Rob: Hopefully it was your bagpipe CD. If that makes it into the truck it could get caught by a sudden wind gust and fly out the window. |

To anyone who has read this thread and may have been offended. It was not my intention. I was just trying to poke a little fun at some serious threads on this forum. I've been thinking about it a little. The people I was poking fun at might not have found this to be funny, at all. I'm really not a jerk. I was just trying to lighten the mood a little. Zac, Rogue, the hooker comment was an inside joke. There was never any real hooker involved. All three of us who rode that day are married. We decided to ride that day so we could meet each other in person on our bikes before we carpool to Dragon IV for some serious riding. We rode just a little fast that day. Gofast somehow lost his prescription eyeglasses down the road somewhere. I never saw them fly past me. The three of us have been keeping in contact via email. We exchanged emails after the ride. 07xb12ss thought it would be funny to send an email to Gofast making the comment that he hopes the hooker gives him back his glasses. I sent an email that I hoped Gofast's wife had a good sense of humor. All three of us had just met that day, and we never met the wives. It was apparently taken as a joke. He'd have to do MUCH better to get ME in trouble with my wife, but that's not a challenge! |

We'll have more stories to share after the Dragon adventure. The eye glasses were in my upper jacket pocket and it is never a problem unless you are going triple digits. I learned this from pst experiance when I lost the last pair. Being smart and married for almost 27 years, I told her the truth. The glasses came out around 140 mph due to the wind buffeting. That went over well. So when I lost this pair, I thought about the last time and waht happened when I told her......So this time I sent her a text telling her I lost the glasses. She responded with "how?". So I manned up and told her the hooker took them. Figured I would get in less trouble that way. She laughed and thought it was funny, then booked a girls weekend to Cabo. Those glasses are getting expensive. |

Well it's a good thing you didn't go home with no glasses AND a ticket. Might have to start calling you Neo for your bullet dodging skills. |
