Of course this is BS...he even said so in the 6th post. I thought it was too good to be true, but one can always hope. Let's look at the claim...4 valve push rod heads? 9500 rpm redline? VNT turbo running 18 PSI? Not only are VNT turbo's considerably newer than the original Diablo concept, but 18 psi is a lofty goal for a bike that wasn't intercooled (as far as I know). Of course, if someone in the know wants to disprove me on what the Diablo truly was, I'm all ears. I'd love to be wrong on this one, even if it makes me sadder in the long run. Why I am going to get into this moronic discussion,I don't know...VNT Turbos have been around for a long time (see 1989 Dodge Shelby VNT Shadow,150 m.p.h,tested in Motor-Trend fastest cars in made in the U.S A) There WHERE 4 valve push-rod Harley engines tested,but in a naturally-aspirated ,low R.P.M application they offered no benefits due to loss of intake velocity.Whereas in a turbo,or high rpm application,the increased flow could be utilized.Boost pressure is a resistance to flow,and does not measure the amount (C.F.M.) that the engine is moving,so..It is possible to get more H.P out of a engine with LESS boost and better flow.As far as R.P.M's go,what limits peak rpm is piston speed,not valve float.With a over-square engine (big-bore,short-stroke) 10,000 rpm is possible.Hey 1324,just because you are not aware of something,that does not mean it does not exist,rather it just shows your ignorance about a subject that you posted for all the world to see. | ||

The dumpster full of Buells likely predated the shutdown, and was part of normal business. There was a turbo Buell motor built, likely more than one, as the bike had made it all the way to durability testing before Harley "helped" by deciding they should build the turbo (which was really just a way of them to kill the project... and one more reason that HD management should hang their head in shame). | ||

That dumpster was long before the closing and had nothing to do with the closing. I assure you . . very few bikes, parts or anything was wasted in the process of closing Buell. There were some interesting dynamics, personal and commercial, that occurred. The stories will be duly captured. | ||

Personally I don't doubt that HD dumped various parts at the local crusher. For them it was a heavy paperweight taking space, they just wanted it gone. I bet a bunch of cool stuff hit the garbage cans for no one to ever find! Ever worked somewhere that was say moving locations? I helped a dealership move locations and there was a ton of "older, but neat" parts that hit the big metal dumpsters. Just because lower level employees didn't care about moving it. It happens! I'd love to see details on this as a turbo setup would be awesome!! | ||

I am with Rah7777777, GM does this all the time. I have a buddy who has gotten 6 nrand new LS7 engines (complete just had the wires cut) from an undisclosed dumpster another friend who works for GM knows that is used to dump test engine and prototypes due to warranty and insurance issues. The fact this engine Could have come up is possible but very unlikely. Just look at the Uly's in the dumpsters, I couldn't imagie what I would do if I was the guy picking that up to bring it in..... | ||

It is a 07(no hole on the frame) and Brake cleaner.got my kidneys.Still got a CX650 turbo I bought new!! I will post pics if you care to see it 9000 miles on the bike! | ||

How about a trade ? I happened upon (nevermind how) Top Secret government X-Project creation. There was only one made before the lead scientist (the only one who knows how it works and how to duplicate it) mysteriously disappeared never to be heard from again. He is presumed dead as if he wasn't he would be 119 years old this April 1st. Ok enough about the background & history of this machine. Down to the meat and tater's. This machine will allow the user to do something no-one else will be able to. This machine could end world hunger, rid the world of disease, unlock the secrets of the universe, unlock the secrets of the deep blue sea. How does it work you say ? it allows the person in posession of it to move in a motionless way !!! So what do you say ? Do we have a trade or what ? | ||

variable nozzle turbo, at the end of the compressor are vanes/blades that tip a bit to add pressure. 89 shelby shadow turbo II Red car with gold wheels and trim. recaro seats... The proof is the picture. | ||
