So... Several years ago (before my Buell riding days) I saw this cool, old school looking bike with a hack. Kinda looked like an old airhead Beemer but it had a funny name. Fast forward to late 2009/early 2010. After I bought my Uly I joined ADV rider and found that old school looking bike again. My attention was caught. Now into 2011. I've been away from ADV rider for a while, but recently I logged back in. Now, I'm hooked!!! I'm looking to spring on one of the 2WD models. Unfortunately I must thin the herd to accomplish this. Look for the 06 XB12X listing in the classifieds soon. I'll give a BadWeb price and it will also be listed on flEa Bay. The 98 883 may have to go as well. Yes, I know... I am crazy. But fear not, I'll be keeping the 98 S1W and the XB12R Racebike!!! |

I'm planning on getting one of those when I'm too old to ride 2 wheels. |

I had a ural car attached to my /2 BMW for a few years. It was fun. There are some problems associated with owning them...everyone has to stop and talk to you about it, all your riding buddies want you to carry stuff for them. |

I have a Ural Gear Up...damn fun and easy to work on. Keep something with only two wheels because the Ural is nothing like a motorcycle in many ways. |

Froggy, Your sentence didn't flow right with that "an" so I looked up when it is proper to use an an or a before a vowel and I found some interesting reading. http://www.wisegeek.com/when-is-it-appropriate-to- use-an-instead-of-a.htm Sincerely, The Grammatical police |

EG, I wasn't sure. It didn't sound right, but I was always taught to use "an" before a word that starts with a vowel. I gots some more reading to do |

I think the Ural in camo or desert looks cool and would be fun but there is no way I would sell my bike for one. Bikes are way different than anything with 3 wheels. If I had an extra 11k to spend I might get one to putter around town with. I like the idea of being able to take 3 people for a drive at the same time. |

It didn't sound right, but I was always taught to use "an" before a word that starts with a vowel. You use "an" if it sounds like it starts with a vowel. Example- "an hour". The "h" is silent, "hour" is pronounced just like "our" so you say "an hour" even though the first letter is a consonant. "Ural" is pronounced "you-ral", where the "y" is a consonant sound. Therefore "a Ural" even though it starts with a vowel. Thus endeth today's grammar lesson, delivered by a mechanical engineer no less. |

I have two friends with 2010 patrol Ts, 2wd models. If I have an urge I'll just ride on of theirs again to bring me to my senses. They are neat implements but not a replacement for a motorcycle. |

In case you missed the fine print; "Yes, I know... I am crazy. But fear not, I'll be keeping the 98 S1W and the XB12R Racebike!!" |

Actually I love those things. If I got one it would have to have the machine gun turret mounts on the side car, I'll fill in the rest! |

There is a Ural Dealership about 5 minutes from my house in Harvard Mass. The dealership is in Boxborough. How much for the Buell and how much for the 883? Steve |

One of the locals round here has one. Had to rebuild the engine before 10k. I would still rock one, especially at BTF or MBVII. (Message edited by new12r on January 23, 2011) |

I'd still use the bike in the warm (over 32). I want to replace the jeep with a 2 wd one for winter driving. |
