I don't think they will call it a cheater. The Duc in a 1198. I know that in a interview that Geoff gave that they were still looking for more power on top out of the 1190 but they were confident to find it to keep up with the likes of Suzuki. |

Bads1 - Intertesting point, but not true: http://www.cyclenews.com/articles/road-racing/2010 /12/15/jordan-suzuki-team-hits-the-track Here's a shot of the set-up they had at that test: It would be interesting to compare the Erik Buell Racing set-up at Daytona. |

>>>is it really possible for the 1190 to be homologated before the race? Unlikely I'd guess and . . and I don't know for certain . . but I'd rather run the 1125RR that I had fairly well sorted out rather than an 1190R that had been hastily "rushed to race". That certainly doesn't rule it out . . and Geoff's results on the Buell are nothing short of amazing. I watched last year as he proved himself not only eerily consistent but as he improved his performance with each passing week. Improved, by the way, to the point where mucho dinero was dangled in front of him for this year . . . Geoff stuck with Buell. He's got the talent and the machine . . most the folks that will appear at Daytona do. What Geoff seems to also have is the same drive that's been evident in Buell over the years and has taken little known names like Danny Eslick places they'd never before been able to go. I think it's going to be the most exciting year of Buell racing ever. Can't wait to see it. Kinda cool seeing guys with a bike loaded in the back of a pickup running in the pack with the folks that brought nearly a million bucks worth of stuff. |

I hope Barney wins the race of the slow cruiser-bikes. Or if Paul is there, that would be great to see him win. They ought to let the old tube frame Buells in on that racing. |

bads1 -this is what I was saying 'good point' to 'Even if the 1190 isn't ready in time for Daytona, you can expect Geoff to shave some time off those results while Josh Hayes is probably already running at close to his peak' |

Elvis, I forgot that they had a short test. But I also recall that they had very little time on them because of the temp were very cold. So infact they are strange bikes to them and they do need to get up to speed. And comparing Erik Buell Racing to Jordan is a big difference in money. But its even a bigger difference in money from Jordan to the Yosh team bikes. Jordan doesn't spend anywhere near the money per a year compared to factory teams. |

I know where you were coming from Hybrid. Think is I doubt Hayes was running at peak. Nor do I think any of them were. Its a tire test and to find out a good setting for March. Not to see who's fastest or who has the biggest brass ball's. |

You aren't testing the tires unless you run them at race pace. |

hree seconds is the same as 17 seconds? This from the same guy who doesn't like the idea of rules in SBK that keep the bikes more stock because it would slow them down so much? Who are you and what have you done with Matt Purdy? Not really the same argument. I am against restricting Superbikes because if you are going to race a 'superbike' then it should be a full power version and not a restricted superstock spec bike. Superstock classes already exist so surely we don't need Superbikes and Superstock running essentially teh same spec bikes? However when it comes to close racing, Spec classes such as the XR1200 series are usually very good in terms of spectator appeal (which is why I am such a huge fan of Moto2) and actuallap times and speeds are a lot less relevant than distance between the riders. 3 seconds a lap on a superbike is unfortunately a big gap tomake up, although I do realise that this is just a test and we don't know exactly how hard they weretrying or what any of the teams test goals and schedules were, so times should of course be taken with a pinch of salt really. |

You aren't testing the tires unless you run them at race pace. Blake, Talking to a actual Crew Chief and listening to what they set out accomplish while they are there. No its not just about race pace. You'll see how much faster they will be come qualifying Daytona. |

Tire testing may or may not be about race pace. But at some point race pace is gonna happen. Perspectives.... 1.51.8 Dane Westby, 2010 200 Qualifying 1.50.3 Podium Winners, 2010 200 2.09 Barnes on an XR1200, 2011 Tire Test (Pretty much the same times as LW SS bikes). 2.17.5 My fastest time on a Belt drive Buell, from my first and ony venture there. I kept getting faster, but I only raced one 6 lap sprint. (Message edited by Paint shaker on January 21, 2011) |

Good question Svh. Being a photographer it is something I don't get. I find photos of mine on the internet where the watermark has been removed also. |

That is where I got that one also. Photography is such a competitive business and seems to swing from feast to famine for most that I know, I can't see not giving them props when using their photos. Sure on the Internet they don't get paid for the photo but someone might see that and want that photo. Their "free" Internet advertising is then useless. Mike I have always enjoyed your shots and have a few included in my screensaver slide show. |

Don't want to hi-jack the tire testing thread, but back to page one comments concerning the XR1200 Series. It has been expanded to the west coast and that has be be good for the businesses that support racing like Jimmy and I do. If the AFM were to pick up this class and run it in the second wave of the twins race, I am sure we would be the go to shop for some of the guys. We have already installed a couple of sets of Super Traps and tuned them with a DJ PC-V with great results on the street. The class requires that everyone use the V&H XR1200 race kit and while not my choice for pipe or tuning it does make every bike almost equal on the grid. In this economy JT&S Performance could use an extra nickel or two from the installation and race prep. Yes, the bike is not a Buell, or even a true from the ground up Sport Bike, but if "Slick" is on one again this year it must be a fun bike to race. I am pumped about being able to watch Danny on one when they get to Infineon this year. Terry - jtsperformance.com |

Reality check. Slick is on one because he is well paid to do so. He always has fun, but you can bet this is near the bottom of his list of fun rides. |

I'd just like to see them race ! Speed TV stinks on ice ! I would have loved to see Elena Myers earn Her place in the record books by being the first female AMA PRO race winner. I really do wish I had enough loot to start my own channel. All motorbikes all the time... |
