I'm trying to see what the maximum allowable wear is for the front rotor. I've looked in my Service Manual, but can't seem to find it. I measure mine at 4.422 mm. Wondering what should be the maximum amount I can go to. |

I thought I found it in the manual somewhere and 4.5mm rings a bell. I'm at work though and can't check. |

I have not seen a spec in my service manuals (although, I have not searched for one either). I would imagine, given the design of our brake systems, that rotor thickness would almost never be a problem before rotor warping. So perhaps there is no minimum spec because they will have other issues before getting too thin to perform safely. |

Check on the rotor. I think it's stamped on there (as with other rotors). (Message edited by vospertw on January 20, 2011) |

4.5 mm is correct per my manual (03 XB9R). My new rotor measures 4.95mm or so. (Message edited by Livers on January 20, 2011) |

FYI - in my 09 service manual it is in Table 1-4, Quick Reference Maintenance Chart: XB Models, as well as page 1-22. 4.5mm for the rotor. (Message edited by vospertw on January 20, 2011) (Message edited by vospertw on January 20, 2011) |
